Hello Everyone, I just got civ 4 and was wondering when you are in a match and you discover a new civ in the area there is a number next to the leaders name, as well as my name. And as the game progresses the numbers go up. Now my number is always a lot lower than the other civs as the game moves on. How can I get my number to go up faster.

Do you mean the score? If you move your cursor over your name it should show how the score is broken into it's parts: size of your civilization, military power, wonders, technologies etc.

The easiest way to increase that number is to build a lot of cities and have control over the largest amount of land. Things like population, wonders and technologies usually follow from this advantage.

you could also try switching off cities on and off for wonders, buildings ect. to building up your military. If you're playing on a cramped map which I like because it makes more stress for expansion then building up a military wil lget your score high and gain power.
