for whatever reason the AI onsome of my characters isn't working. it usually happens near the ironfist clanhold quest or when the characters are about halfway to level 9, not sure which is relevant.

And before you say it, it's not the puppet option, i've checked that like a thousand times.

Any idea's?

p.s. the characters still work when i control them directly, but they won't follow my main charracter or each other.

Would you please give more detail as to how you got your bug? Try and replicate the error.

Also, I don't know if it is relevant, but attach your dxdiag report.

Why am I asking this? Because I'm going to report the bug to the developers! :)

There really aren't more details as to how i got the bug. If i knew the cause i might be able to fix it but i'm at a loss.

As for replicating the bug, i'll get on that. might take a while seeing as i've got a lot of school work this week.

and how whold i obtaion this dxdiag report. Is it a log kept by the game? or is it a diagnostic i run?

Just joined to say that I too have had this problem. Exact same spot. It's right after what's his face (the Paladin) joins and you're heading to whack some orcs. After he joins, I add two more characters to the party and head out. Immediately upon arriving at the orc camp, me and the Paladin are just fine but the other two characters (whoever I pick) just stand there. After fiddling with some of the behavior stuff (turning them into puppets, then turning them back) they would follow me a little but were not participating in combat.

I'll reload to get specific better details and see if it happens in other areas.

[Edit: Reloaded. It's after Casavir joins. When I get to the Eyegouger's camp/lair area the other two characters just cease functioning. Ditto in any other area I head to after Casavir joins.]

Hrm...not sure which quest is the ironfist clanhold one. I did some more testing. This time I went back to neverwinter after he joined. On the way there I was in an encounter. My other 2 characters still acted like puppets. Then I got to Neverwinter, went to the pub, changed my characters out, and went back to the Orc lair. This time they would join combat but still had some issues with following.

I'm still testing, but I have two theories. One is that after Casavir joins, the other two members start acting like puppets until you switch them back out. That was remedied when I swapped them out in Neverwinter. The second theory is that the Eyegouger area is just bad for pathfinding. I think the other members are trying to follow but since they can't they just stand there. Not knowing how the following works, I can't say for sure. But in the latest session, one person would always follow me and two would stand there. The person who followed changed and it seemed like when I got to a more open area, the other two would come charging in.

Where does the Ironfist Clan quest take place? Who do you get it from? I may have already done it, I'm just not sure.

there is a halfling in the bonenasher area, past the rockslide, hiding in the tall grass on a raised area, that's where you get the quest, then there should be a new tent icon on the world map. To refresh you're memory, it involves a lot of bugbears

as for dxdiag, thee were no problems reported DirectX Files Tab: No problems found. Display Tab 1: No problems found. Sound Tab 1: No problems found. Music Tab: No problems found. Input Tab: No problems found. Network Tab: No problems found.

I had the same problem just after Casavir (name correct?) joined up with me. My main character (me) and the newest member (Casavir, the paladin) would follow and participate in combat, but the other two party members found their way to the center of Eyegouger's lair and stood silent as statues, unless I possesed them, and also had just stood around the begining of the Blade Spider canyon before that. I found that giving them broadcast command, from the held right mouse button menu, of "follow me" actually permanently fixed that problem. Not sure what it is that causes that, but after the paladin joined up, the other 2 party members "defend master" behavior had also been selected to "no".

I sure hope this might help someone else.
