Anyone here heard or tried this game yet (Closed/Open Beta). Well, here is some general information about it then for those who haven't seen it yet or tried it out :p

Aion is a Korean MMO made by NCSoft, it had quite a success in Korea, China and Japan so now NCSoft decided to make it available for US and European players too, or pretty much the rest of the world who are unable to understand the kanji, hiragana and katakana (symbols) of the Korean, Japanese and Chinese language.

The game have had several Closed Beta events for people who have pre-ordered and recently there were an Open Beta for pre-orders/pre-purchase and some lucky people who got keys from somewhere else. The game will launch September 22nd in the US and September 25th in Europe, the headstart for pre-orders/pre-purchase starts Sunday the 20th and pre-selection of characters started today.

NCSoft is famous for their Guild Wars series (made by ArenaNet which is a part of NCSoft) but unlike Guild Wars this wont be a free MMO where you only buy the game and wont need to pay for more, Aion will be like World of Warcraft and Age of Conan that you must pay $12.99 (US) or €12.99 (EU) per month. The game itself cost $59.99 in the US and €59.99 for people in Europe, there's also a Collector's Edition which is $69.99 in US and €69.99 in Europe.

The game is made with a modified CryEngine, you know, the same engine used for FarCry and probably some other games too. This makes the graphics better than World of Warcraft but still not as high as Age of Conan, you wont need a real high-end PC to run this actually.

This game can be bought in stores (pre-order) and on the release or digital download (pre-purchase) or on the release date, STEAM also got this game out for digital download!

Almost forgot to say, this game is quite fun after trying it in the Beta, it looks better than WoW and it's maaybe a different experience even though it's just a new MMO. I recommend getting it or trying it, too bad there aren't any trial periods for the game but they might give those later.

Yeah, an MMO-Strategy. There was one called 'Shattered Galaxy' but that was more tactical... It was a good game, but its pretty old now, yet still has quite a number of people playing.

There's Massively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooters, but the only good one in that genre is PlanetSide. They shouldn't be called MMORPG's unless they actually had something to do with Roleplaying, rather than just building your character without any specific choices or actions to take.

I agree with you so much! Thats what I keep telling those WoW fans!! The least they could do is just make a character out of their own choice and skill sets... For MMORPGs now, people have character building guides. Theres barely any roleplaying left other than those crazy people who cybersex or act like lunatics. P.S. Yeah, I know about MMOFPSes, but I don't really like 'em after playing COD4/5 with hardcore mode on. The HP system + the lag = angry players.
