Just wow.....

If you thought EA was bad before, this is just insane.

It actually doesn't steal personal information. If you actually look at the stuff it requests that more or less the only thing that is requested about the accessed files are the atributes of the file. (size, permission, date created and stuff like that)

Though all seems to rather point at origin being sloppily coded - all those buffer underuns.

Swebonny;33032909The thing is, does people know what Origin.exe is actually doing? Do you have any idea what "QueryBasicInformationFile" means? No you dont. [sp]Perhaps I don't either :V[/sp]

It's only QueryBasicInformationFile on the exe files on the computer, NO that doesn't mean it runs the program and checks trough your history and all that shit.

Here's the FILE_BASIC_INFORMATION structure that Origin.exe is using/calling. Now tell me how much private information I'm seeing.

[cpp]typedef struct _FILE_BASIC_INFORMATION { LARGE_INTEGER CreationTime; LARGE_INTEGER LastAccessTime; LARGE_INTEGER LastWriteTime; LARGE_INTEGER ChangeTime; ULONG FileAttributes; } FILE_BASIC_INFORMATION, *PFILE_BASIC_INFORMATION;[/cpp]

I mean this is ridiculous, why are you trying to hate on EA without any grounds?

Please reply and tell me if I'm right or wrong.
