I'm just wondering has anyone played a game like call of duty 2 or battlefield 2 recently and had a fps increase with 1 gig of ram from 512?

Well, I used to have a laptop with 512 before upgrading to a gig sometime, and performance did seem smoother whilst gaming (faster firing in FPS, more characters on screen without slowdown, etc). But it really depends on the game to decide if it will make a major difference. PS: Should this be a tech forum question?

general rammelincrease with 1 gig of ram from 512?

A lot of tech questions relate to game performance.

Increasing RAM will make an impact on game performance. Including fps.

Well every one says 2GB owns BF2 compared to 1GB so your going to get yes' all round

And also this SHOULD be in the Tech Discussion as Sparks said, a lot of tech questions are related to games like what Gfx Card to get or how to improve FPS etc...

i acually had BF2 when i had 1GB of ram then i added another 1GB and there was barely a difference.

But from 512MB to 1GB will make a HUGE difference in most games out today.
