Yes.

So they have finally left Europe, and after years of speculation, it seems they have moved to the American Revolution.

Not much else is known about the game yet, other than the boxart and the general time setting. But by god, I am excited for this.

I was debating the American Revolution since the second game.

Anyway, I hope it doesn't suck like 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations. *Fingers crossed*

Very much looking forward to this. Kind of hoping we don't have more Desmond though. He's already enough of a messiah. Schofield, I've got to disagree with your opinion of 2, Brotherhood and Revelations. Granted I've still to complete Revolutions, but I've honestly found each game to be an improvement each time. Truthfully, I do wonder why some people keep getting each game when their opinion is that they suck... Seems highly masochistic.

Not really. The story is good, but it's how they're making us go through the story that I don't like. And masochistic? Might want to look up what that word means, because I don't know why you used it. ;)

In Assassin's Creed 1 you actually played as an Assassin (or how I feel an Assassin should be played), you were given a target, nothing more. It was up to you to decide (granted there weren't many available options) how you wanted to take out your target and how much intelligence you would gather before striking the target. In my first playthrough I didn't pay much attention, but in my second I found out that if you gather more intel it can actually give you a few more options you may have missed the first time.

It went downhill after that. In Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood (never bothered with Revelations) I felt like I was playing errand boy. I knew who my targets were but I was forced to do useless chores for a bunch of people (who were conveniently ALL Assassins) that I didn't care about. Now obviously the story needs a way to be propelled forward, I think the way they did 1 was absolutely fine, they just needed to refine it more and put in a few new things to not make it repetitive.

I also completely despise the combat system in 2 and Brotherhood (which Revelations put a bit more in to). It's just way too damn easy to fight 20 enemies now what with kill streaks and not. In my opinion, the only real improvements they brought with the sequels was the option of using more tools to complete your missions, and improved assassination techniques (ledge take-downs, etc).

As a former HUGE follower of the AC series, this is a big letdown IMO. Lately the settings and quality of gameplay are getting increasingly worse. I honestly felt all installments were pretty good, and even getting better, up through Brotherhood, but Revealtions was a disjointed mess, with laughably bad combat and navigation.

Now they're going even more bland with the setting, taking us to the pioneer days of America. No more world class renaissance buildings to scale, no more cities of architectural splendor, and no more epic rooftop chases. Worse yet it will be even more of a shooter now.

Fitting I guess that a 360 cover shot is shown, because the series is clearly getting increasingly dumbed down in it's latest installments. Maybe this is just to try and bolster more US fans by bringing the setting to America. When will they realize the US is less cultured than the rest of the world, not more.

I just read this on TrueAchievements and had a nerdgasm all over my keyboard.

I'm a tad bit skeptical about the setting, but just a tad. Otherwise, I think it has the opportunity to be amazing. This is going to be Ubisoft's biggest release to date, so here's hoping the game doesn't tank, because if it does it will break them.

If AC 3 were to tank, it wouldn't kill Ubi. Granted it's their biggest series, but it's almost lived it's full life already. They still have other series to draw on, including Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, Prince of Persia, HAWX, Far Cry and Driver.

AC 3 tanking would merely mean a bad ending to that series, nothing more, and as many people that enjoyed the terrible Revelations installment, it's as if AC is an untankable series anyway.

2 was the best one... anyways I can't wait to rent this and watch the intro and see what happened in revelations! I should just rent every other Assassins creed

I'd forgotten about Prince of Persia. I'm still waiting for a sequel to 2008's installment. :cort:

I've throroughly enjoyed all the installments of AC. I'm hoping that with this one moving into the US with the Revolution that its not a first person shooter as that would ruin the series imo.
