atari is about to release the flashback 2.0 . a shrunk down version of the 2600. the cool thing is that unlike the original flashback which was nes on a chip , the console will include original VCS hardware and the roms will be original . this will be a bonanza for the homebrew scene who will no longer have to depend on dwindling supplies of original 2600's. the console will also include replica cx40 controllers and be compatible with all original controllers. its going to be released in july. it seems atari learned from the success of the c64 in a stick . check out this link for news http://www.essentialreality.com/vga_catalog/product_detail.php/pid=97376/ 97376_d.jpg

perfect opportunity for your old man to cough up the bucks to relieve the claisics. i was hoping it would be released by fathers day so i could by my dad one. these games are true classics and even younger guys who did not grow up in the late 70 early 80 will have some fun with, i have original 7800 and 2600 plus the atari and intellivision jakks stick , this machine is perfect to savewear on my classic consoles. for ERP $30 im sold

I never had the chance to play the atari when it was around. I played the Lynx but i have only played atari games in arcades. Might be interesting to have one...
