i just read spring 2005 new battlefild, new engine, over 100 players on 1 game....sounds sweet . link http://pc.ign.com/articles/514/514523p1.html?fromint=1
Yes. It looks awsome. But I think the best part is the new graphics and sound engine. The lighting and shadow work in the game looks incredible. And the new sound system will block off sounds if they are behind something. You won't here the sound as well depending on how thick the object in blocking the sound off is. And the destructable objects in the level look really nice. You can now throw a grenade by some wooden boards or boxes and they will go flying. If it was based on the Vietnam war again, that would mean no more napalm burning the terrain for a fews seconds, and leaving everything perfect. The ragdoll phyisics aren't too new to lots of gamers, but will make the game more fun(blowing lifeless bodys around with your M203). You can also pick a lot more soldier skins. It will probably be rare that two soldiers are alike. The ranking system will keep people playing for a long time trying to get there rank up. It will finally give you a permanent reward for playing good. Now you can have side designs on vehicles. Just like the music in Battlefield: Vietnam. In vehicles everything lights up, dails spin, computers turn on, it will look great. The last thing I would like to say is the levels look so detialed, you could go to a city in Iraq and it might have the same features and it might look alike. My little preview of Battlefield: 2
so there going to go with an america army like honor point system? also sounds like you'll need a some high specs to play.... if there talking about 100 people on one server imagine the size of the terrain.. i also think its moddern combat stuff.. oh well ..something to dream about for a year..lol
Not like Americas Army, you have ranks in the world, you can be the most dangerous rifleman or something.
Hehe, can't believe people haven't heard the news yet, this tuff is old. :)
As for the rankings, they allow you to unlock certain weapons and may give you the edge if you want to be the commander.
This looks so awesome. Such a cool upgrade.
I'm also holding on for BF: Modern Combat for PS2. Only 16 Players, though, but they have the rankings.
have u guys seen the battlefield 2 trailers? they are hell good
I don't care for modern war..... Only reason I'd buy it is if there were good ww2 mods for it.
I'm looking very forward to get it. Hopefully it can get a 10/10 perfect score from everyone.
With the terrain damage system they made mention of, I want to know how extensive it is going to be. With BFV they said that they didn't want to confuse playerers by having a constantly changing battlefield. So does that mean they will test a system that doesn't allow for a lot of destruction? Or will they make it more like Red Faction where everything that can be realistically destroyed, can?
I just don't want to see unrealistic damage terrain, nor heavily overused.
