Mikouen;4609261Dynasty Warriors series, for sure. All of the Dynasty Warriors/Shin Sangokumusou soundtracks perfectly harmonize traditional Chinese instrumentals with Western rock. It's an interesting combination. Also, the four Onimusha games include quality traditional Japanese orchestral scorings from four talented composers, with the fourth game also introducing rock elements.

Ahh, Last time I played Dynasty Warriors was a year ago. I couldn't stop playing that game.

I've always loved the Megaman X soundtrack. Specially storm eagle and spark mandrill. Storm Eagle YouTube - Megaman X - Storm Eagle Storm Eagle on guitar YouTube - Megaman X - Storm Eagle Spark Mandrill YouTube - Mega Man X - Spark Mandrill Spark Mandrill on guitar YouTube - Megaman X - Spark Mandrill I couldnt get the video things to work. So the links will have to do. They translate really, really well to guitar. I think storm eagle is the best song in the game, with spark mandrill being a very close second.

Morrowind and Oblivion had great music. I also loved the music from Ace Combat 4, in particular the very last song. Finally, the main them from Legend of Zelda.

Afterburner;4609694I also loved the music from Ace Combat 4, in particular the very last song.

You, sir, have excellent taste.

Being an Ace Combat fan, I'm strongly inclined to say it has some of the best game music I've heard. While there are some not-so-good tracks, the good ones are so awesome it more than makes up for it.

To pick the best one: nothing beats Zero from Ace Combat Zero. Epic duel music is epic. Wraps up the ending of the game perfectly.

In other games - I quite liked the main theme from The Force Unleashed. Didn't feel very Star Wars-y to me, but it was still a good piece.

Oblivion and Morrowind have excellent tracks from Soule like Afterburner mentioned.

Metal Gear Solid series has some good stuff as well.

Ace Combats, as mentioned, does as well. I like this one.

And for laughs

Trying to remember some more...

Rookie;4609292 /thread. Edit: Jeremy Soule is also pretty awesome. He did the soundtracks for KOTOR, Guild Wars, Morrowind, Oblivion, and a few other games I can't recall offhand.
Mario!? MARIO!? It had a nice funny tune, especially the star one but otherwise how is that good. Well, I guess everybody has there own tastes. Most of the people that have posted seem to like emotional and orchestrated music.
I've always loved the Megaman X soundtrack. Specially storm eagle and spark mandrill. Hey me too. All the tracks of MMX were so good. I like the remix for storm eagle's stage in Maverick Hunter X. The others though I liked in the original because they had less synthy stuff maybe a bit of Boomer Kuwanger's stage music but yeah they were better on the SNES. I always liked Zero's theme also whether it was in The X series or Zero series. But I hate how they went towards an electronic synthesised style from Zero to ZX. Edit:

Conker's Bad Fur Day, the mighty singing poo. A fine demonstration of high culture.

What's the ESRB rating on this whatever it is and when was it made? As for culture, only the tone of the song had any culture if at all. Even the lyrics alcked them.
