I guess this is the one year that people have a place in their heart for only one modern military shooter.

Anyway, after enjoying the bejesus out of CoD2 and 4, the series has lost my attention a month or two into MW2 - and has been placed on hold until it looks like there is something substantially new to look forward to in the next game.

On separate occasions, I found BF2, 2142 and BC2 extremely fun. Bad Company 2 has introduced destructible environments, a new caliber of graphics to the series - and conditioned us to desire only larger maps, larger battles and jets. BF3 is at this point sort of like the holy grail of gaming for Battlefield fans.

But does this mean Battlefield 3 will be a better game? I don't know. It's going to be really different, and it's not going to outsell MW3, that's for sure. The style of the game however is far more appealing to a lad like me.

If I had to choose between the two, Battlefield 3 by a land slide.

I've always loved the Battlefield series, save for Bad Company 2 in some instances (mostly, because Bad Company 2 was a huge step back from BF2 and BF2142). The only Call of Duty game I could get in to was Modern Warfare, everything after that is basically a glorified expansion with a $60 price tag. Very little new content really coming in, no "new" ideas in the sense of something unique and different.

I loved Battlefield 2, and I enjoyed Battlefield 3's betas. Logged at least 3,000 kills throughout the 30 hours I played it so far.

Just buy a BMW, you'll have way more fun than either of those games.

This. I honestly don't care for either of these games.

Pft. Modern Copy and Paste 3 is going to be the same old Michael Bay-styled action, no innovation. Battlefield 3 for me. *buys MW3*

If I had enough money, I'd buy them both... But, as it truly is, I'm not gonna buy either. I simply can't afford it. I will, however, rent both of them (God I love Gamefly) and give them both a fair chance.
