In a somewhat surprising move, Bioware has decided to declare April "Sequel Celebration Month". From April 1st all the way to April 30th, owners of Dragon Age II for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, or PC will be able to register their copy on the Bioware Social Network and receive a free copy of Mass Effect 2 for PC.

There's a catch, albeit a small one; the offer doesn't include the Cerberus Network system. Promotional content can still be used, however, as long as you have a Bioware Social Network account.

As of the 10th of April, the Cerberus Network can be activated by visiting the same page that contained the Mass Effect 2 keycode. However, once activated the network is tied to the Bioware account, and therefore is not shareable.

Below are the steps to claiming a copy(Courtesy of BioWare | Dragon Age );

  1. Purchase your copy of Dragon Age II (if you do not already own one).
  2. Activate the Online Pass content that came with your copy of Dragon Age II (The Black Emporium).
  3. Start the game and log in using your EA Account or create a new EA Account.
  4. Visit Choose Language | BioWare Social Network and log in with that EA Account.
  5. Enter your Online Pass code and click "Submit". You will then be provided the code for Mass Effect 2.
  6. Open the EA Download Manager and enter the code to commence download (if you don't have the EA Download Manager installed, it can be found here: EA Download Manager - EA Games

Well I guess that's nice for people who just picked up DO2 while never buying a Bioware game before. A bit redundant if you are a loyal Bioware fan though.

Anyway, who wants a free ME2 download code?

Me~!

I would definitely love to have ME2 on my computer.

Anyways..... I think that its a great promotion, though, maybe not that well thought out.

Done. Not sure whether the key is linked to my profile, but maybe it works for you anyway.

According to users on Joystiq, the key isn't linked to the account.

If anyone has a code they don't need, hit me up, I'd love to try ME2 on my PC.
