What's it like? If you could, also give me an analogy like is it like ME or COD. You know like that.

I might consider it the next time I shop for games.

You can't really compare it to Mass Effect or Call of Duty. It might be advertised as an RPG, but it isn't. It's an FPS with RPG elements; the opposite of a game such as Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas. The missions aren't challenging at all, unless you're fighting against one of the bosses, and the gameplay can quickly get repetitive if you're playing Offline. But beyond that, the weapons and HUD are both fun and refreshing.

Funny you should mention Borderlands. i picked it up again yesertoday and started my second playthrough with a character.

I shall cut out the storyline and setting and get the gameplay. essentially there are ALOT of weapons put down into different catagories. You have -shotgun -sniper -pistol -SMG -combat rifle -Eridian(alien)

The weapons you find are pretty much randomly generated. There are set guns and even legendary guns( I have 3 they are awesome) and all will roughly match your level-meaning that you can get the same gun later but it will be stronger as you are.

There are SO many guns in the game it's impossible to name them all. I ignore the names like most people. These guns have company names which reflect what aspect they are good in. Elemtal(fire, shock, corrosive and fire), fire rate etc. Make isn't important really. The controls are from COD making it more familiar. the combat system is just like COD as well really. All enemies have different weaknesses and strengths. To see what fights are like check out videos.

Also you have a shield, no armour, a shield as well as grenade mods. Which of course you find stronger and different affecting ones. Thats why it's a must buy!

Borderlands in one of the best games i've bought in a long time. According to Steam i''ve put 48 hours into it now and it hasn't got old yet. =p

Borderlands in not really a game to be taken "seriously" as far as the setting and story goes, it has much more humor and funny moments in it that probably 99% of other shooters do, which is apparent before you even start the first mission. The combat system works very well with critical hits for head shots, enemies and guns that scale with your level, and skills that actually make a difference and can be quite fun. Graphics are also top notch, though they are not super realistic looking if thats what your expecting. The game has more of a cell-shaded look to it, which works very well IMO. As already said, the variety of guns is nearly endless (i'm 48 hours into it and i'm still picking up stuff i've never seen before) with some doing elemental damage (fire, explosive, and corrosive) and others having huge clips sizes, some with or without scopes, and others doing just extreme amounts of damage.

All and all its one of my favorite games period.

Serio mentioned something about not being very challenging and/or repetitive. Is that true?

I don't really care about the items or powers I get. What matters to me is whether the gameplay itself is actually any fun and either not too repetitive or too easy or anything.

If find it very fun. Whether or not its too easy depends on how soon you choose to take the boss fights. Borderlands doesn't make you do anything in a certain order, you can do tons of side missions and pretty much forget about the main missions if you choose. Every mission gives you the recommend skill level. How hard it is depends on whether your under or over that level.

The game does suffer from some repetition (having to fight through the same bandit camp over and over again for instance), but I don't feel that it's enough to turn you off from the game. Enemies are only easy if they're at a much lower level than you. If they're near, at, or above your level, or if you're fighting a boss, then you're in for a challenge. Even then, low-level enemies can cause you some problems if you're not careful.

I like the game. It's a good shooter that has a good length (so far), which is one of my major complaints with mainstream shooters (too short). I'm only on my first playthrough and hope to finish the game.

Also, rocket shotgun for the win. You also have character customization. It's quite fun.

The character custimisation sucks-just change a couple of colors.

the game is repetitive. But the enemies act differently each time so theres no problem really.
