holy shit. I cant even begin to say how awesome this is. They look robust and well, in working order. We're paying a pretty steep price for them, so I can only imagine that they would work well. I'm absolutely getting this.

I will wear them at the midnight release and walk home through unlit alleys and side roads.
But will us poor, lowly PC users get the same things offered to us?
LOL, no price mentioned I noticed, and they're undoubtedly no better than the $80 toy ones you can buy on Amazon for $75. Too bad MW2's not releasing until Nov 10 though because it would probably become a popular Halloween accoutrement this fall. I suspect those donning them might become the butt end of their own joke though as this type is very awkward and cumbersome.
Unless using them for fun little gags, I can see why they suggested displaying them on the supplied Soap skull. This monocular type are front heavy, have a very narrow field of view, and quite honestly being low end 1st gen NV are not designed to work in total darkness, which is why it's said that moonlight is required even on the $500 ones.
The gaming industry has gone completely nuts with the 360 IMO. First talk of Natal, now they want to ship games where you can dress the part. What's next, an addon that shoots paint balls at you while you play?
IM SOOOOO Fucking getting that.
I see that UK players have been shafted again, seeing as how we only get the basic game over here and all.
They are trying to do what Bungie did with the Legendary Edition of Halo 3. Milk players for more money because of a large hunk of plastic and a art book that no-one would ever look at more than once.
But that was a large of fail in itself since, well, Halo 3 is just another average shooter where the original price tag of the Legendary Edition ultimately wasn't justified.
EDIT: Working night vision googles. Thats a little dangerous. What if a kid is wearing them at night, and someone else walks in a turns a light on? That kid would would suffer huge retinal (eye) damage.
^that would be pretty funny. and would probably also put some sense into all the devs heads.

I doubt it's even to the quality of generation one night vision, as a pair of generation two will cost easily a several hundred USD.
