Mihail;4948248I doubt it's even to the quality of generation one night vision, as a pair of generation two will cost easily a several hundred USD.

It probably isn't, it's more than likely similar to the "toy" forms you can get in stores. I don't see why any one would put military grade in there anyways, it isn't economical.

But I believe like Billz1282 said they're just trying to one-up with what the Halo 3 did for Legendary Edition and how the sales figures were with that. Really with the price-tags of these collectors edition they and the store make even more profit as it doesn't cost all that much in the end to make and distribute.

Consumerism at its best.

But hey, as long as you enjoy it that's what counts, I guess. Seems much better than a "making of" vid or art booklet in regards to putting it up somewhere and making it a conversation piece.

Nvgs for rich city kids who rarely if ever see real night time. Ah well, I guess someone'll get a kick out of them.

I think it is also illegal in some countries. I'd be surprised if you could walk around with a military grade NVGs in Germany without attracting some attention from the cops.

im watching the difference between the 3 different editions right now. i love how the guy says the hardened (theres a dick joke in there somewhere...) has an exclusive artbook for the hardened edition only, yet the prestige already comes with that, so whats the point of saying its exclusive if it comes in 2 different boxes? this maybe a point that isnt very important but im losing respect of IW as this goes on... but i might get the hardened mainly because of the metalic casing... yes i am amused by shiny things, sue me.

$150 for the 360. A little out of my budget range.

Yea, it is. Though judging that people were willing to shell out the cash for Halo 3's legendary edition (think it was about 120 or so), they'll probably do the same here.

Billz1282;4947718I see that UK players have been shafted again, seeing as how we only get the basic game over here and all.

In a world where mobile phones have built-in flashlights, most streets in UK towns and cities are illuminated anyway (to say nothing of the fact that I very much doubt anybody willing to shell out so much money for a single video game is likely to ever go outside at night anyway, if at all), and power-cuts aren't particularly frequent, why in the name of Barney would you even want such a thing? If you want night-vision goggles, go out and buy some! There are plenty of army surplus stores that will carry better versions than the kind you'll get with this game, probably for lower prices than Activition will ask for too.

All these special editions, collector's editions, limited editions and now prestige editions are getting out of control. People are playing extortionate amounts of money for these extras when, at the end of the day, the only thing they will actually end up using is the game they wanted in the first place. God help you if any of you claim to be 'environmentally friendly' and still buy all this crud though.

Seriously, when you look at all of these 'special extras' you get, you really need to think to yourself - if these were being sold separately, would I still buy them? Or am I just buying them 'cause they're coming with the game?

:uhm: $150 is the usual price for a Special Edition over here, with $95 being the price for the regular edition(Only goes for console versions). The only special edition I've ever fully enjoyed was the Fallout 3 Collectors Edition, and that's mostly because of the bobblehead. Considering the popularity of the first game(how it reached that point is still beyond me), the Prestige Edition will probably get sold out in the first five minutes.

The Body Popper;4947624Xbox360Achievements.org - Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition Comes With Night Vision Goggles!!

holy shit. I cant even begin to say how awesome this is. They look robust and well, in working order. We're paying a pretty steep price for them, so I can only imagine that they would work well. I'm absolutely getting this.

Aw you suck I was gonna post this

I will definatly buy this. Good NVG's are expensive (several hundred), but these will prolly be better and cooler than the crappy ones the marine corps gives me.

150 for a game and NVG's....why not.

I read that Fallout 3 did something like this with a life-size PIP boy.
