Do you think bro should be punished for this? If so, to what extent?

Isn't cyber-bullying a crime?
Personally I think that for encouraging thousands of people to cyber-bully this person into killing himself he should be permanently banned from the game and all events. People like that don't deserve to be on a panel representing fans let alone play the game.

If you said that about going after someone in real life, you'd be in world of shit. And since the planned outcome is the same I think the penalty should be same.
CCP should ban him and pass his details along to the police, who ought to have the primary responsibility for dealing with this sort of thing.
Agreed- that said, he can arguable be described as "the" player representative of EVE Online, according to some. I wonder if EVE Online itself will receive any fallout over this.

Eve has always been known for a very unforgiving community. It's always been incredibly brutal. Both in game and out game. Which is oneo f the attractions
Psssh, I wouldn't do very well in that game, then. Especially with the out-of-game community. I'd go to a convention just to Wampa Stomp someone. What are they gonna do? Stop me? LOL, not without a few hundred rounds.
Anyhow, haven't heard anything else on this yet. I hope bro gets prosecuted.
I take what n0e says way too seriously

I hope he gets punished just to set some of example for the community that enough is enough. Blow up somebody's pixel ships/steal pixel money, talk a little trash, poast tears, and move on. There's way too much harassment that goes on, and people think it's cool.
And on the EVE forums I'd be told to GTFO. The saddest part is he probably said it because he really did think that would be a cool "yaaar I'm a goon I'm so good at eve" thing to say. Almost as sad as if it hadn't been at fanfest it probably would've gone unnoticed.
On one hand, he really has done a lot for the game as a CSM member, and it would be a shame if he resigned. On the other hand, his apology strikes me as only being semi-sincere at best. The fact that such a thought would roll through your head, even drunk, only goes to show that you've become too much goonswarm CEO and not enough human being.
