I bought Civilization play the world and i couldn't play it because i needed the part before so i bought Civilization 3 (or vise versa) and i still couldn't play it and i bought it somewhere more than 2 years ago and i son't know what part i need before that. that's question number one. question number two is, do i need to install all the parts before i can play civilization 4?
Civilization III: Play the World is an expansion pack for Civilization III, it requires Civ III to play. Civilization IV(4) is its own game so you don't need Civ 3 or its expansion packs to play it. Hope that helps.
but i have both civ 3 and play the world and i still can't install it
This is rather strange. Just uninstall everything connected to civilization and do it from the beginning. Install Civ3, install any patches which might be necessary (check the readme of Play the World for that) then install Play the world. If you can't install it from the auto-start menu look for a setup file on the cd.
Also, when you uninstall, make sure that there are no registry-keys left (if you know how to edit a registry). It is possible that the game won't install correctly if you didn't uninstall it correctly before that.
I think FancyPants is right, the best solution is to uninstall it, and try once more. It might be some registry errors, and it can be... Humm..... And, Menace is right, CIV IV is a "stand-alone" game, CIV III play the world is an expansion pack. You need CIV III to play it.
i just forgot that i left both civilizations in my country and i'm gonna order to my grandma to send them by mail p.s. thx, my question is answered, you can close this thread now
