I'd put this in the CoD forum but there is no black ops section.

Im wondering if I am alone here.

I just beat the single player. And while the storyline was...interesting, I found it grossly below par with the storyline of Modern Warfare 2. Im not sure if its fair to compare the 2, but given the succession of Black Ops to MW2, I think its only natural.

The music sucked, and the gameplay was not epic at all. I remember in MW2, when you first play one of the Virginia suburb levels, and you see the planes dropping russians everywhere and you deal with enemy soldiers in the houses, it kinda pissed me off, the russians attacking us. The moments of storyline twists in MW2 were outstanding, and I remember I was pissed when Shepard killed you and Ghost. Also, when you crawl out of the caves in DC and see the White House being held by the Russians. All of it was awesome. Not to mention the addition of Hans Zimmer's talents.

Black Ops was cool, but there were no plot twists really.

Spoiler: Show
Except for finding out you are basically a schizo and Reznov was dead years ago

Other than that I could hardly even follow the damn storyline. Too many names.

Having never played World at War multiplayer, I do enjoy the zombie games, and the multiplayer will keep me entertained until Modern Warfare 3 arrives. *Knock on wood*.

Just playing through Black Ops multiplayer at the moment, enjoying it so much more than Modern Warfare 2. I had a quick blast on the campaign and couldn't get into it, will play it purely for the trophies.

I found multiplayer very fun.

I like that explosives are faaaar reduced in power, making it a gun game. Feels like the original call of duty almost. No bullshit 203's, riot shields, blast shields, and no stackable killstreaks. Just run and gun, with a few variables.

Sadly from what i've heard from lots of people they pretty much only focused on the multiplayer, and so the single player campaign is very lacking. I've pretty much lost interest in getting it already until i can find it cheap.

Mainstream shooters are pretty much all about the MP now. Maybe cutting the SP out of most of these games would be better. It kills the theme and the story behind the game, but who play's SP anyway* ;)

With IW neutered and my negative attitude towards Acti's CEO, I really don't care about a MW3. It'll likely suck but be overhyped like the last 2 games, and the reviewers will be bribed by Activision to say that it's awesome just like the last 2 games.

Rumors about state that the next one will be a space marine shooter anyway.

*(I do)

I don't think they did a bad job at all on the game, personally I haven't liked any of the modern warfare games(1-2) and black ops was a refreshing approach they took to the campaign style.

And honestly enough they couldn't have continued the story of MW2 for the simple reason of how much more fucked could things get in the alternate reality? I mean a EMP already was exploded over Washington DC.

It was a fun game to watch! I loved the music, very get you up and going, and the graphics were excellent! The part of the game I actually got to play was the co-op Zombies, which, despite dieing constantly, was very addictive and entertaining. I think that the boy and I definitely got our money's-worth out of just that little side game :D

Just finished my 2nd run through of Black Ops, this time on Regular mode after installing the patch. The patch makes it run noticeably better, but it's still hitchy and laggy on my rig. At least the Zombie menu works now though, and I really like the one in the theater. I'm up to 7 waves of zombies so far.

I haven't got the game for myself yet.. well, I have, but it's a Christmas Present, so I'm not allowed to play it until December 25th. Suffice to say, I was up a friends house on Sunday playing the new Zombie mode. As with World at War, it's quite addictive.

World at War was the first COD I ever played, and typically, nine out of the ten times I turn the game on, it's to play the Zombie Mode. Level 36 is my highest on Der Riese, and I'm in love with the Wunder Waffle, add to that the Barracuda or Reaper, and you're pretty much sorted. Monkey Bombs on the side.

Black Ops Zombies, I believe is a little bit harder. When up my friends on Sunday, we must have had a solid 15 - 20 games worth, and didn't get past round 11. Mostly it was rounds 9 and 10, hit round 11 once, had a round 4, 6 and 8 in between them too. Seems more hectic, especially when you actually get into the theatre. What's more is they've taken the Wunder Waffle away, and I swear they've reduced the power of the Ray Gun. :uhoh:

That being said, I know what I'm doing Christmas Day. ;)
