I've been playing SOCOM II for ps2 since it first came out, then SOCOM III and SOCOM: CA. These are my absolute favorite games, I put so many hours a day into these, especially S2. I stopped playing about 9 months ago and now I tried to get into them again but its not the same. So I guess its time to move on.

I want a online-shooter with the headset and popularity, meaning you go on there and there is always tons of people on playing and talking, even at 2AM in the morning. My friend said that CoD4 is popular for the PC. I'm going to get either a PC or a PS3 first, but eventually I'll have both. SOCOM: Confrontation should be amazing, and hopefully has the same, if not better, effect as SOCOM II. But until then, its CoD4. Is CoD4 the top-of-the-line shooter of this day? Or is there another game out there?

Battlefield has it's days now, and the community is getting bored and restless. Call of Duty is much fresher for the people. In all honesty, I barely ever hear anybody talk in either of the games however, it's part of the reason why I joined BFE.

Definitely the PC mate, the ps3 controller works but the mouse and keyboard is much better suited, I've played it on all 3 and can strongly say I love the PC one and hate the other two.

CoD4 is one of the most popular games right now, its great on Xbox Live (or so my friends with Xbox Live tell me), and i keep hearing that its really good online on the PC. The single player campaign is also really fun. I say if your PC is good enough to run it well, go for it.

I have it for PS3, and even with the controller, it doesn't lose its appeal. With all the unlockables and challenges, its got tons of replay value. I've contemplated getting a USB mouse and keyboard, but I'm too cheap to actually get them (since I just dropped $350-400 on textbooks). Though if you're pc can run it, go for it, its probably the best online shooter on the market right now.

I couldn't agree more. You have a shitload of more freedom with a PC. By the way, Mac is gay.
