Hey everyone, i am thinking about buying this game.. but i have a question. Is there multiplayer like coop? IE is there a multiplayer campaign you can progress through your freinds in (Like diablo, Titan's Quest, etc) If there isn't right now.. is anyone modding one in? thanks, and, bye.

Well.. Bean, I hate to be the one to break this to you but.. No there is no co-operative play in multiplayer.. About the modding part, perhaps and perhaps not... Though It is unlikely as the SDK for Dark Messiah has not been released yet. Still, keep your hopes up :D You will never know what life might throw at ya.

From what I've heard, ManaSG on the Ubisoft forums did manage to find a way to put the campaign onto a server and had others playing with him, unfortunatly however, it was unplayably laggy.

It's possible that with some tweaking it may work, but is unlikely to happen. To have the single player levels online is not particually sensible. The amount of physics involved would basically kill an internet connection when they're triggered.

What I imagine may happen as far as cooperative play goes, is that someone will make a mod/map of some kind which allows you to spawn NPC's and fight them online, however as I said, I dont think theres going to be a way to play through the campaign. Props to anyone who gets it to work...once we get the SDK....

Damn that sucks.. ah well. yeah i was only hopin to be able to play this at my next LAN party.. probably will still buy the game anyhow.. just because it kicks ass. i guess i'll mess around with it when i get it. thanks guys. :)

The idea of having a Coop is possible, if you removed all of the physics items from the game. Naturally you'd like to keep doors and portcullis, but even these would cause some lag. If you made a map of a village, tomb, cavern or something. You may be able to get it to play well without any major lag. The AI themselves may cause some lag as well. When and if they ever decide to release the tools, I'd be more than happy to experiment with it.
