Me and several friends have been gaming together for quite awhile now, mostly in MMORPGs to start, but it seems that all the games we have played are just getting old. We are currently looking for a game, of ANY type, that would allow for atleast 4 people to play cooperativly. The more modern games seem geared toward competition only, which is fine, but we do enjoy playing as a team more.
We have been thinking that a game that offers some kind of a sci-fi thrill or an amount of horror would be fun to try, but finding one that allows for decent coop play has proven to be more difficult than anticipated. A degree of advanced tactics would also be great, something I think every game should have. We use Teamspeak, so a game that takes advantage of communication would also be nice. Alot to demand? I don't know, thats why I'm here.
Things we have already done: City of heroes/villains World of Warcraft Guild Wars Rainbow Six (Various editions) Battlefield games
If you and your freinds have fast enough computers (or xbox 360's) you might want to try out Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter
Unreal 1 coop. You can play with up to 16 players online
Yeah, GRAW is a good one. I still haven't thoroughly taken a look at the Co-Op in Gears of War, but I know it's there, and I hear it's great. :D
You could always try Star Wars: Galaxies. From what I understand it's like an MMO version of KotOR 1&2. There is also DoD, and I believe that the IL2 series Multiplayer promotes communication and tactics.
No! I'm Spamacus!

If you are looking for a computer game that isn't too demanding of your system, Operation Flashpoint has some challenging AI and countless coop missions if you don't want to make your own.
America's Army is free and starting to create a few coop maps, though the AI system is fairly weak.
SWAT 4 is pretty fun as well.
As for science fiction games, I don't know of any that were any good. Of course Operation Flashpoint is highly modable and has quite a few sci-fi mods out there. ;)
