This would be one of the games on my list. Although Alan Wake looks good ( if not great), but in Crysis i trust more :). Will be glad for someone to change my mind on that. Off topic : what's wrong with HL2 : Episode 2 ? Is it DX10, or enhanced DX9 ? My future PC : AMD Phenom/Phenom FX 4/8GB RAM? NVidia/ATI G90/R700? Dell 30"/LG 246B etc....

Dude, what the fuck will you need 8, nay, 4 Gigs of Ram for?! That alone would cost you 400-800 Dollars. Just go 2, 3 at most.

On one hand - yeah, u right. On the other - that will be sufficient when Crysis comes on shelves. And that day will happen, true? ;) Besides, prices will cut down drasticly by the Q3/Q4 of this year. And i live in Israel - we have it less pricie, anyway :D.

4/8 gigs of ram to turn on ALL bells'n'wistels in Crysis !!!!!! :D

According to the "Recommended Specs", which I read quite awhile ago on the Elder Scrolls Forums, 2 Gigs is enough. I can almost run it on max! Well, ignoring the DX10 thing. Still, if your going to overclock on Ram, I would just 4 Gigs. I've got my money to spend on other things - Like College and Martial Arts.

Good for u, m8. :) I working out myself, got someone to do sparring ( want to learn quai thai/muai thai myself, have it in Israel as well ) Nice avatar photo, that guy is my #1 favorite in martial arts, too. Anyway, about topic : 4 gigs - is suffice, yeah. DX10 games r the rage, as far as i concern. Besides, they will be a power hogs, so as more muscle ( CPU cores, RAM, GPUs, shit :)) - the better !!! Good luck on graduating & martial arts, m8 !!! P.S. I have finished mine 13 years ago, 31 yo, and finding better job & marrying someday, if u familiar with that shit !!! :)

Nope, dude, I'm 15. I started at . . 8, stopped for 3 Years, resumed at 12.

Yeah, Muay Thai is Awesome, sort of like Advanced, Badass kickboxing, a knee strike from a professional Muay Thai boxer has an equal amount of force present to that in a 35 Mile an Hour Car Crash.

Right now, though, I'm interested in Kenpo. Traditional Chinese Gung Fu + Okinawan Karate=Win.

Now, back on topic . . I've never heard of either of those cards; are they the most recent cards utilizing DX10?

Yeah, they are. G90 - Nvidia's latest chip : 65nm GPU /RAM, probably support 512-bit mem bus, probably GDDR4 & it's die is shrunken compared to GeForce 8800. That's what Inquirer says, but those r speculations. ( though not all of it - GDDR4 comes out in Q3/Q4 of this year, or already came, so not all of it is bullshit ) Same goes for R700 : it's ATI & it's, or at least what i read lately - Radeon HD 2900 XT. Yeah, this IS the name. Of course those 2 fully utilize DX10 & all that graphical shit :) So this is a winning combo : either in SLI/Crossfire, it's a blast. Probably 15-20 000 Marks in 3DMark06 each one, in SLI/Crossfire - can't even imagine :D Good combination - Bruce Lee mixed those styles too. :) Muay Thai, Kapoera, Kenpo - they r all great !!! Jit Kun Do=Way of intercepting fist :) Good luck.

Memory ICs are, more than any end-user computer part, a commodity (a fact made all the more clear by the "921" earthquake in Taiwan that shut down the TSMC & UMC foundries for several weeks). Regardless, 4GB is generally overkill, yet even so not a bad investment if you have the money and if you can keep 2GB full the majority of the time you're using the box. Anyone who buys 8GB for a desktop is a bloody moron.

[quote=XanLord;3695362]Nice to meet you, too :). Tell me 1 thing : what is the meaning of word "overkill" for ya : 1) bottleneck, or 2) don't have money right now for it? Gotcha, m8 !!! :) Just kiddin' ! :) Anyway, i wasn't talking much about how much RAM, CPUs, GPUs, shitload of what i'll have in not so distant future; :D ( although u & i can debate on that if u suggest that topic :) ) " Crysis & DX 10 gaming " - THAT is the topic. Thank for advice, hope u didn't use word "moron" on me - for a sec i thought it's personal. :( P.S. I ashamed of myself : please enlighten me on the "921" earthquake subject, something REALLY familiar yet i can't recall. Please ? :)

It was a general statment. 4GB will be more than enough to crank Crysis to the max; I've seen it. It's smooth and wicked and stuff like that. 8GB is, frankly, a waste of latency and not even close to being worth the cost. I also note that the topic doesn't touch on memory at all, so why bring it up? Crysis require DX10 to look pretty. Hard stop. As for the 921 quake, it was a massive earthquake whose epicentre was near Chi-Chi IIRC, that struck on 9 September 1999. Ignoring the human toll of the quake, it caused massive disruption in the computer industry due to aforementioned disruptions as the TSMC and UMC foundries.

True. Same goes for multitasking - 4 gigs is MORE than enough. But now combine this : i AM buying new PC from scratch - AMD's Phenom/Phenom FX, new NVidia's GPU ( not that i dislike ATI, they're great ) & Vista SP1. All of this hardware & OS are used for :1) gaming, 2) multitask, 3) 3Ds MAX, & 4) remote desktop/access ( want to hookup this muthafucka :) to the company's server, maybe ) !!! How much of horse power will i need right now ?! Probably 4 gigs for a start & shit :). Maybe drop off multitasking part for a bit, but still..... Anyway, tell me more about other DX10 games, for a start : Crysis hooked me up because of vast landscapes, sheer graphical glory, what not, UT3 because of Unreal environment/engine, what else ? I know/aware of Hellgate : London, Alan Wake, but i'm hooked to multiplayer games more. Anyway thanx & post more of the games, & not how of that, or that anyone needs. Best regards people & please post of actual games 'n' shit :).

@C38368 : Yeah, it doesn't, i clearly stated this myself :). As for RAM & shit :) - i just posted my future PC specs - didn't thought everyone will jump on that part so dramaticly :). I'll be more gentle on that next time :). Anyway, thanx again m8 & thanx 4 that 921 info as well : i recalled something like that, just wasn't sure how it was. Take care, m8.

@SteVen : I'm with u, m8. Then again, i'm keen in purchasing that after all : switch'd sides from Intel fanboy 2 AMD Athlon64 in 2k5 & using it since. Besides i said 4/8GB of RAM with question mark :D, which means i'm not sure about whether 4, or 8. GIMME SOME FEEDBACK ON GAMES, M8 !!! :) What's hot, what's not, the shits :) !!! Thanx & respect, m8 !!!

@ SteVen : Wassup, m8 ? It's double post, i know, so i'm asking u to tell me what DX10 games r U looking for ? Kinda keep it small & simple :). I suggested Crysis, because of how it looks - stunning ! UT3 is also down the line. Post, m8, just post :). Take care.
