When is the patch coming out and what is going to be in it or be fixed.. I do know that there going to offer more graphical options to make it more optimized. And just as a sidenote... How come they degraded the graphics from what they looked like in pre-alpha and how come they took certain things out of it? Also, the forests looked a hell of alot better in the pre-alpha than in the actual game, i meean the junlge is dense, but not too dense and looks like a tropical area in south america... What went on with that and how come they got rid of all that stuff?

A patch should be coming out VERY soon, like this week.

Yes, I agree that the game looks not nearly as good as the videos [rendered? I believe so] show it. You can have the BEST computer available to this date in time [like 2x 8800 GTXs SLI, X6800 processor, 4 gigs DDR2, Vista x64, etc] and still not get it look that good in the videos. Specifically I'm thinking of the DX9 vs DX10 video. I've not seen or heard people talk about performance even as good as the DX9 end shown in the video.

Personally, I don't think the patch will solve this, though the patch does have a lot of optimizations in it. Before the release of Crysis, Crytek said that after the release of the game they'd be working "everyday" on patches and optimizations for the game, "working closely with Nvidia," etc.

Well than thank god i have an Nvidia GC... And you can easily tel form that DX9 and DX10 video that it's alot different, mainly because of how the gun looks and sounds, the crosshair for the sniper, and the fact that the Koreans were using FAMAS's. I hope they give the option to customize motion blur so you can tone it down so you'll get better FPS, aswell as a Depth of field option.

Patches are usually made to fix bugs or errors and make minor optimizations. Don't expect a miracle patch/driver that will boost performance up to 50% higher. As for motion blur you can disable this entirely using r_motionblur 0, command. ATM there is no way you can make motionblur more toned down. Although you can also disable that blur around explosions with g_radialblur 0. By nature motion blur is an intensive process. Its the equivalent of soft shadows when F.E.A.R. came out.

I agree, the leaves on the ground look unrealistic, the lighting is completely different, plants and items don't move like they did in the promo vid. All by all, it is a completely different game they have released, in comparison to what they promised.

well, i disagree, dont forget. Indeed it was pre alpha but they clearly showed that they were building levels. So you are able to remake that scene with a dense atmoshphere of plants etc. And about that graphics area, thats typical of the new games. They sometimes add pre rendering etc..

Is not completely different but is different anyway, is always the same: the demo and trailers are better than full game

I think he means the demo/promo vids. As for the game, there is making a game look good, and this. comparisonshotxt0.jpg

That just isn't the same game.
