In CS:S is there a Deathmatch type game mode? Or is it all team based, where you have to wait for everyone else to die before you can spawn?

No, modded content gets you banned.

Sorry I misread what was written, server side modding of course doesn't get you banned.

But having modded content on your computer results in a VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) ban. Although people using hacks seem to get away with it far more often the Valve claims is possible....

VAC does have a very good anti-hack, after playing a few other popular games, Valve is pretty hacker free compared to them. Mostly because once you caught, your gone unless you wunna buy a new game, but then they probly won't chance being banned again.

I wouldn't have said so, I see the same amount of people using hacks in Valve games than anywhere else. The most recent Steam update has sent everything to hell as well, the number of people risking using hacks has gone up, sadly.
