Barrett.50;5442810 DS2 will definately be on my buying list. I really hope it has the same interesting weapon selection, I loved the Contact Beam.

I hope they make the other weapons more useful though. The best weapon overall in the first game was the first one you got, the plasma cutter.

I find the plasma cutter the most useful overall, esp now that I can aim quicker. It's the only one with which you can change the angle of the beams and repeat fire fairly rapidly. I've read that on the hardest difficulty level it's the only weapon you can use, which doesn't bother me a bit. I've yet to play it on the hardest level due to the horrendous lag on my previous rig, but I'll def give it a go on this one.

>Omen<;5442594Only thing that bugs me about Dead Space is the terribly clunky console feel to the movement and aim. Some say the PC version is best played on a gamepad because of it, but I suck with gamepads. It's been a long time since I've played the game, and I'd forgotten how you actually have to swipe the mouse across the pad repeatedly just to aim, even on max sensitivity. I got so frustrated at one point last night in the room with the 2nd appearance of a regenerator where lots of other monsters spawn, I had to quit and play Just Cause 2, and JC 2 isn't exactly an easy game to play.

I agree, the game feels way too awkward with a mouse and keyboard... it really pisses me off, the weapon selecting is just as annoying. It's one of the main reasons why I gave up on the game and never bothered finishing it.

Take note of what was said about the simple mouse sensitivity fix above, it really does make a huge difference. I'm nearly finished with my current run through on Normal and the only monsters I've used Stasis on are the Brutes and Regenerators, and only because they are invulnerable if you don't slow them down and get behind them or use the cryo chamber or shuttle engines.

The only weapons I've used are the Plasma Cutter and Line Gun. I can see some people abandoning the game when you're forced to sweep the mouse across the pad repeatedly just to swing your aim 90 degrees in close quarters ambushes involving several monsters, but with the mouse sensitivity edit mentioned it's not like that at all. As I said above it also makes moving around easier.

I played the dead space 2 demo and well...

I didn't really like it. I mean by itself its a good, well-functioning game. But, it wasn't all that scary, I mean it tried to pull that hallucination trick on me and that was the only "scary" part. Even then I just said to myself, "That was weird"

So with that fix, did you enjoy playing the rest of the game?

Yes, definitely a more enjoyable experience. I've yet to encounter any spots where the aim feels clumsy. It no longer plays like RE 4 did.
