Ok, this is my deal. I bought this game, Sid Meier's Pirates! LOVE the game. Problems. When I first put the game on my computer and you would enter either the tavern or speak with the governor the representation of your character would not be clear. It was a figure but, only color. Then, after a week it starting booting. I would see the screen freeze, (always while at sea) and then it would go to a smaller black screen and then up would pop the error message saying it had to close. I contacted the publisher, Firaxis Games. They told me I was short on memory. At the time, I had 256megs. I just upgraded to 512. It is still doing the same thing. I have been told I need to upgrade my graphics card. I've been told I should pump my memory up to 1gig. Here are my specs. Any help is so appreciated. Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHZ 512MB RAM Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller approx memory:64.0 MB Anything else? I so want this game to play!

Inner Demon, be nice. Thanks :)
Ah, I see. Apparently, when someone enters a forum devoted to gaming and asks for a little assistance they hold themselves up for ridicule. Does that make you feel strong? Do you feel oh so brave and intrepid? I hope it makes you feel good about yourself to mock someone else. I bet it's a real thrill for you to torture small animals and bully the other 15 year olds, huh? On a side note... Thank you for your kind intercession, Knippschild.

That's more than likely your problem. Integrated graphics cards are never good for gaming. The game most likely requires a feature that the integrated controller does not fully support, or it simple does not have enough memory.
Please do not retalliate to any offenseive comments, we will handle them in the first place.
