If any of you dont know DirectX 9.0c has been unoficially released. It has been ripped from the beta of Service Pack 2 but it is the real version of DirectX and you can download it from Microsofts website although it will be called DirectX 9.0c Redistrubution. It is for game developers that want to include directx with there product. You know when they ask you if you want to install directx (version number) after you install a game. Anyways, ill give you an example. When playing Call of Duty the Burnville mission I would get a lot of stuttering, especially when the sky lit up because of a distant explosion. It was really annoying and because of this one problem I had to sacrafice my some graphics options to make the game more enjoyable. I wasnt expecting Directx to solve the problem but it did and now I can play Call of Duty with maxed out graphics options. Im a little suprised because Directx 9.0c hasen't been released yet and no hardware except the Nvida 6800 Ultra and Ati Radeon x800 can take advantage of it, or at least the new pixel shaders. But if it want Directx that solved this problem it would be a really big coincidence. P.S To install Directx 9.0c you need two extra files that dont come with the original download. If you go to google and search Directx 9.0c click on any of the links actually the first one cuz it will be call Directx 9.0c installation instructions and just follow the proceure.
