So, this seems to be another mess of a piss-poor port by our Gracious Lords and Masters(Praise to their house) Bethesda?

From what I've heard, the game underperforms even on high-end rigs, something the developers have (allegedly) acknowledged. Why was it allowed out of the QA chamber if it was that obviously broken?

It's a 9/10 game running on a 2/10 engine.

The game itself I've been enjoying immensely. The gameplay, the setting, the characters, the writing, all of it. Fantastic.

It's number 1 problem is performance (on both PC and consoles). Why they chose to ditch UE3 and build their own engine off of IDTech 5 (which was shit to start with) is anyone's guess but I've not seen anything in the game that couldn't have been done on modified UE3 or UE4 and still ran at a sold 60 FPS.

Yeah - from what I've seen in the screenshots, it really looks like a 2010 game visually. And I assume they went with the oil painting style of the original, which meant the textures weren't exactly high res.
