Do you think graphics matter? or is game play more imortant?
Gameplay matters more, but to the younger generation graphis are all important, perhaps too important. It's like those people who automatically assume a black and white movie will be shit, because it doesn't look as good.
I guess that the consumer society we are values looks above all else, so I can understand why graphics are considered important.
also gonna have to go with gameplay as being the most important aspect. It just wouldn't be any fun to me having a beautifuly crafted, sexy female fighter chick (with the animated bouncy breasts and all) if you cant control the hoe!

The gameplay is more important than than the graphics, because the gameplay is what makes the game, graphics makes the game look nicer but sometimes when you focus on the graphics more you get a rubbish game out off it. Sometimes a game can have good graphics aswell as gameplay.
Gameplay is of ultimate importance. But if you're making a game with lots of atmosphere, graphics can be a bit help to achieving that. Space Invaders wasn't very immersive. Freelancer was.

Yes I agree to that also, gameplay does ,atter but if you have bad grphic's in a game some people might not know what the object's are in the game because it look's bad.
A game can be enjoyed over and over with subĀ·par graphics as long as the gameplay is enjoyable. Not so the other way around.

Yep. If a game like Call of Duty 2 didn't have good graphics, it would be boring. I mean, most people only play it because it feels like "war". But if it didn't have the look of war, most people would be bored of the game, because it's just shooting at stuff, but if there is lots of Nazi's, lots of blood, and lots of screaming, it feels good to play. :D
It's just ridiculous to compare the two, you just can't compare them. In some cases and in many ways they are virtually the same thing, and in some cases and in many ways they are too seperate to compare.
Personally, gameplay is much more important, graphics is just an added extra. If you take Final Fantasy 7 for an example, this was released in '97 and I'm still playing it even though graphics of today is much much much better, but the gameplay on FF7 is practically unbeatable IMO.
