Oh fuck yes.

BioWare appears to be just a day away from revealing Dragon Age 2, officially, going by the role-playing game developer's Twitter tease. Or was it today, when EA and BioWare officially said that Dragon Age 2 is in development? The BioWare biofeed wrote earlier today that "2morrow will be a great day for BioWare fans. Just sayin'." Electronic Arts also wrote earlier today, in a press release about Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, that Dragon Age 2 was in development at BioWare, so that's pretty much confirmed. See?
Currently announced projects at BioWare include the development of ongoing downloadable content for Mass Effect 2, one of the highest rated video games of all time, Dragon Age 2, the highly anticipated sequel to 2009's "RPG of the Year" Dragon Age: Origins, and the story-driven massively multiplayer online game, Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Of course, Dragon Age 2 isn't much of a surprise, given that EA already blabbed about a sequel to Dragon Age: Origins on the books for the first quarter of 2011. BioWare helped nail down a possible release date of February 1, 2011 with this none-too-subtle teaser included in the retail release of expansion Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening. Oh, and BioWare VP Greg Zeschuk told Joystiq earlier this year that Dragon Age 2 will look "super hot." To sum up, if you like Dragon Age, show up to the internet tomorrow.

Couldn't have said it any better. Dragon Age: Origins as well as Awakening were astonishing and I most certainly enjoyed every single minute playing it. As usual, BioWare knows how to impress their fans / supporters (as seen in KotOR, Jade Empire, DA:O/A, Mass Effect series and the such), and I'm sure they'll come up with yet another highly-appreciated game.

Keep it up BioWare! I'm certainly getting DA2 once it's released.

Ugh, another game I'll have to check out now that I have a decent computer. I'm always looking for an RPG that was as great as the KotOR series. Mass Effect is on my list too.

I highly recommend Oblivion.

Hopefully they're not going to procure a completely new, never before seen or hinted at enemy, just for this. I'd be happy if they stuck to the Darkspawn story and just used a new blight for the story. But it's a definite purchase for me.

Zamamee;5354579I highly recommend Oblivion.

I wouldn't. Not with those examples given as great RPGs. Oblivion seems to me like pretty much the opposite of KoTOR, Mass Effect and Dragon Age. While those are all narrative heavy, very structured games - Oblivion is far more about free roaming and loosely tied quests with less focus on strong narrative.

I say this because I love KoTOR, Mass Effect and (kind of) Dragon Age, whereas Oblivion bored me to pieces.

On the contrary, I've come to realise that Medieval settings are a bigger turn-off for me than I thought. A universally acclaimed Dragon Age I didn't even complete yet (a sin for an RPG lover), and I had so little interest in the Oblivion plotline I screwed around for a long time and quit. In the meantime, "Oblivion with Guns" is one of my favourite RPGs evah.

I'm not so sure recycling the same plot would be a particularly good idea. Besides, they invented the Darkspawn story out of nowhere and it worked out alright, eh?

Although I actually liked Oblivion as well, Metall is right. Oblivion is nothing like KotOR, one of my favourite games of all time, nor is it like Dragon Age or Mass Effect. If you liked KotOR, you should definitely go for Mass Effect or Dragon Age first, but bear in mind that Mass Effect doesn't exactly have traditional RPG combat.

As not seen in the worst idea ever to make TOR a MMO. I would rather have something that looked as beautiful as ME or DAO in KOTOR 3, like finally a rich world to reflect the rich universe of Star Wars. But instead they brought it as an MMO with really crap graphics and we all know the story is handicapped once you put it in an MMO....
