Whoa, that demo looks awesome! I knew I recognised 'Captain MacTavish' :p. And missions in arctic environments? Holy crap.
I personally will be getting MW2 when it comes out, as I already have FO3.
But we on the forum can't really sensibly recommend either game, only that you read some reviews after it comes out and read some reviews on FO3 & it's DLC packs aswell.
I will say this though - Fallout 3 AND its DLCs sound a lot beter value for money (simply because you get so much with it).
*The.Doctor;4924176 Am i the only one who liked World at War better?
Yes.
And I have a friend whos taking part in an extremely closed beta. All I've heard is "mw2 is COD4 on crack"
I've added a poll to this thread, so feel free to add your votes. :)
I cast my vote for Modern Warfare 2. To be honest, Infinity Ward shits excellence, and I will buy Modern Warfare 2. I have loved every Call of Duty game they've ever put out, from the original up to CoD4.
Fallout 3 was meh. The entire game had less color variation than CoD4 with night vision.
*The.Doctor;4925177I wasn't stereotyping, i was just making a observation on what types of games you seem to prefer from reading the comments you have posted.
Saying I'm "all about pure shooter and action games" is an obvious stereotype. The word seem in the above quoted sentence of your post implies you're assuming more than knowing. In fact it also shows you've ignored everything I said in those prior posts about ME and FO not being as balanced in RPG and shooting as others I have played, so it's born of more ignorance and bias than truth. Sorry Doc, this is not going to slide off like you're made of Teflon. The more you try the more obvious it will be that you are slamming and labeling me for merely stating an opinion on 2 games.
The guy asked for opinions on what was the better of two totally different types of games. I was the only one here really emphasizing how different they are, and in what way they are different. A person that enjoys a full on realistic shooter like MW should know what kind of game FO is before embarking into it, vs trusting it on the huge cult following alone. I admit I was mislead about FO and ME, but I also explained why. The dev video interviews of both games lead one to believe they're more shooter than they really are.
Omen, as I said in the other thread, the fact that you bought a game without really knowing what it was doesn't make it a bad game. Bad marketing, maybe, but Mass Effect and Fallout 3 are both excellent games. They're just not games for you apparently.
Once again, another person trying to make what is merely their opinion sound more valid than mine. I gave many detailed reasons why I don't like either game. It wasn't mere talk of bad marketing. Many others have said similar things about FO, they just don't go into detail as much, perhaps because they know they'll be slammed by the cult following, much like Trekkies would talk about those asking why they're wearing Star Trek clothes. I swear, some of you take games with heavy RPG content so seriously you actually act like you want to get a vendetta started against anyone mentioning opposing opinions. Get over it people, the fantasy part of RPG has obviously gone to your heads.
Play what you want and enjoy it, but when it comes to real life, which includes chat here on the net, try to be realistic and let others speak their minds without ganging up on them like they murdered your mother. In the end these are just games, mere forms of entertainment to pass the time when we're not socializing. Try and be a bit more understanding when someone asks an opinion on two totally different types of games. Some are just going to describe the ones you like as "Meh" (maybe to avoid the "fallout" LOL), others are going to say WHY they don't like them. So grow up and accept that not everyone fits into your mold.
Saying I'm "all about pure shooter and action games" is an obvious stereotype. The word seem in the above quoted sentence of your post implies you're assuming more than knowing.
Omen, you have a bad habit of way over analizing every little detail of a post to the point where you think you know what the person is saying better than they do, and often your totally wrong.
In fact it also shows you've ignored everything I said in those prior posts about ME and FO not being as balanced in RPG and shooting as others I have played, so it's born of more ignorance and bias than truth.
Ignorance of what? Did i ever say that either were more balanced than other games of the same type? No, i didn't. You also keep making that statement without giving any examples of games that do it better.
Sorry Doc, this is not going to slide off like you're made of Teflon. The more you try the more obvious it will be that you are slamming and labeling me for merely stating an opinion on 2 games.
I'm not trying to "slide off" anything. What other conclusion do you expect most people to come to based on your comments on both games? Yes, it was a assumption, i never said it was anything more, but it was a sound one based on your own comments.
How exactly have i "slammed" you?

Who is arguing otherwise?
Once again, another person trying to make what is merely their opinion sound more valid than mine.
And by saying that you sound like you think your opinion is better than everybody else's.
Many others have said similar things about FO, they just don't go into detail as much, perhaps because they know they'll be slammed by the cult following, much like Trekkies would talk about those asking why they're wearing Star Trek clothes.
That same can be said for any game, of any genre. The voice of the unsatisfied is always the loudest.
I swear, some of you take games with heavy RPG content so seriously you actually act like you want to get a vendetta started against anyone mentioning opposing opinions. Get over it people, the fantasy part of RPG has obviously gone to your heads.
Examples? I don't think anybody is taking this as seriously as you think except you yourself.

Exactly. You are doing the same thing that you accuse us of though, blasting those who like a certain game that you don't as stereotyping and voicing their opinions against yours (sounds like that labeling you spoke of earlier. doesn't it?) because you were mislead about it and didn't find it to your liking.
I'm not here to argue with you, and i'm not going to waste my time on it any longer. Whether you want to say its because i would lose the argument is up to you, i just realize that's its not going to anywhere based on previous experiences.
Get MW2....Pone-ing nubes is ahsum. Can't go wrong with that. Pone-ing.

You need to let this go instead of taking the thread OT into your own self obsessed tirade with your marathon responses already. I'm about a second away from putting you on my ignore list and reporting this post. Grow the fuck up retard. Everything I said was spot on, you stereotype me by labeling what kind of games I'm only interested in over a mere two games I commented on as if I don't have a right to an opinion (a rather common one in fact), without you getting your fucking panties in a bunch about it, then denying stereotyping and insulting me for it. You need to get a grip on reality and step a way from your pussy role playing for a second or two. Ironic that the one that needs a "doctor" here is you, the kind that are called shrinks.
Guys/Gals/Aeg .... Keep it civil and on topic in here. This isn't a life or death situation.

Zamazee, you need three other options.
- Neither
- Both
- Pone-ing

Fair points. Consider it done.
