What is your favorite First Person Shooter Game?..
Call Of Duty 4 Modern Warfare. If only for the multi player... Followed very closely by Halo3, again, if only for the multi player...
although I am warming very quickly to the Left 4 Dead Series...
The Original Half Life was also awesome!
Tough list there. I voted for the Half-Life Series which is mainly HL2 right? Because I've never played HL1 and its old and somewhat unpopular nowadays. But on down the list of the other favorites I have:
Halo Series (played one and two only) Star Wars Battlefront Series Battlefield Series (haven't actually played yet but I ordered BF2 and just waiting for it to arrive :)) Counter Strike
I don't own any of the CoD games but I have played portions of the series from friends, etc. and its a really fun series.
All i can say: Fuck, i clicked sniper elite instead of halo. Shit.
I gotta say the Half-Life series. The first one was great, and the second one combined the FPS aspects with puzzle without turning into an arcade shooter. A note on the poll; I wouldn't call Splinter Cell nor Hitman FPS games. Splinter Cell is a stealth game, where shooting is a last resort. Hitman is likewise, but with less stealth and more 'deception'. Using your guns is still a last resort kind of action during most of the levels.
To name a few:
- Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight + Mysteries of the Sith (expansion pack) - old, but amazing games
- Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force + expansion pack - Captain Proton saves the day again! =p
- Star Wars Republic Commando - great music, squad-based tactical shooter with decent AI and a dose of humor
- F.E.A.R. + Extraction Point (expansion pack) - scary atmosphere, interesting storyline and great AI
Unreal Tournament, and Serious Sam.
Serious Sam, hundreds of enemies throwing their shit against you. FPS in its most base form.
Battlefield. In FPS games I look for the deathmatch-style games where you can just run around killing people/bots with little/no regard for any other objectives. And the Battlefield series has that in spades. In close second comes Battlefront. I've never played a Quake game, though. But Halo was quite fun too.
Actually, i'm rather partial to the Half-Life series, followed closely by Halo series (multiplayer).
If I could only ever play one game it would be Call of Duty: United Offensive. So I guess CoD it is.
