I like the Chosen Archer warband, they have longrange missiles, do a lot of damage, have good armor and can fight with swords just as good as light infantry. Like this they are superior to any other archer unit and can destroy most attacking infantry units.
War dogs are of course also great because they regenerate after every battle. What is more, all the dogs from several units concentrate on one enemy unit which often fights alone against them. The best thing to weaken an enemy army before your assault, to chase away skirmishers or archers, or to destroy siegeweapons.
The elephants. All units are vunerable to them, and they spread fear among the enemy. Great for taking out those close packed phalanxes.
I like heavy peltasts, the added protection is great.
Ha ha ha, easy. Kneel before the Urban Cohort!
gotta love those elephants and chariots. I remember 1st time facing chariots i ran 14 cavalry into 4 scythed chariots. .5 seconds after the charge i had 5 routing cavalry. They had 4 undamaged chariots.

They will be all crushed by my Armoured War Elephants!
Iberian Bull Warriors. (I'm using a 'realism' mod, so i'm not sure if that is the exact name)

You would be surprised... I havent faught any Armoured Elephants. However, one unit of Praetorian Cohorts (slightly lesser infantrymen, but still kickass) slaughtered a unit of War Elephants in short order.
Urban Cohort. i dont think i need a reason.
and Praetorian Cavalry. they always do the most damage to the enemy when i play.
Hell yeah. I took 4 units of Urban Cohorts, two units of Archer Auxilia, and two units of Legionary Cavalry and conquored Rhodes, Crete, and 2/3 of Asia Minor.
