Agreed.

As for what you should get, azninvasion; it depends on what systems you own. If I were you, I'd get a GBA if you don't have one. You can get FF: Tactics Advance, FF IV, and V and VI will be coming out shortly, and you can't go wrong with any of those.

As for my favorite one; Final Fantasy VI (III) for the SNES is easily the best RPG out there, though slightly dated. Thank God it's coming out for the GBA, I can't wait!

They all have their own perks, but of the newer generation of games (7 upwards), I would suggest you might want to look into 7 or 8. I liked 9 too, but that carried the marmite effect, so you should watch over that. Of all the games I've played, I'd have to say the best characters came from 7, especially Sephiroth, the bad guy.

8 has a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it its not bad

The junctioning system in VIII was a good aspect, one of very few, however.

na, I hated that junction system. No particular reason, it just rubbed me the wrong way. I know its obvious, but get VII. I actually have it paused right now, honest to god.

Final Fantasy VII is the king of RPG's end of. Fair does, its quite old now, but it is sheer brilliance. The storyline is superb, the characters are superb, and the gameplay is superb. Its three discs of awesomeness, and because its for PS1, its cheap as well!
