have any of you hardcore gamers suffered (due to the many hours devoted to your games) decreased social life quality?

not really, I spent a lot of time behind the computer, but I always keep in mind that its a fictional world, and ranking first on a CSS server doenst make you better in life, having real good friends is far more important.
I'm spending a year dead for tax reasons.

Not especialy. It might have done for a while a few years back but now I split online time and offline time 50/50.

Not at all, I didn't had much of a social life to begin with... er.. I mean...
I still go out with friends and do things together, this really hasn't changed much since I began to game or post on these forums.

no, gaming does not affect my social life. it does with a friend of mine though. I asked him if he wanted to go to the movies, but he had some sort of "council meeting" in ultima online. :cort:

its not affected me at all seeing as im a withdrawn loner with just a few friends, before i had a computer i used to read a lot of books. at least with gaming and forums i get to interact with other people
