I have a habit of getting nearly to the end of a game, but then for whatever reason I just don't finish it. Often I'll start games over several times, each time playing for hours on end, but then lose interest later each time, eventually forgetting what was going on and will have to start all over next time I decide to play (Morrowind being the most notable example for me). Some other (completely varied) examples are: Bioforge (couldn't start the shuttle at the end) Crono Trigger (couldn't beat Lavos) Prisoner of War (couldn't escape Colditz) Grand Theft Auto (yeah the original. Those Vice City levels were too darn hard!) Medieval Total War (never quite finished my campaign as the Byzantines. Or as the Germans.) Darksun: Shattered Lands (final battle was INSANELY difficult. Absolutely had no chance of winning.) TIE Fighter (got to the last level but couldn't stop my idiot wingman from destroying the Emperor's shuttle every time I played) Freelancer (saves were accidently deleted) Starcraft: Brood War (No particular reason. I just didn't finish it, though I probably will someday.) So I'm just wondering...does anyone else have a problem finishing games? This could be for whatever reason (glitches, accidental deletions, too difficult, just lost, etc). EDIT: Sorry, something is really fucked up with the forums and it wouldn't let me make this into paragraphs. This post was SUPPOSED to like the attachment...

Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 4, Kingdom Hearts... anything that's not an RPG is not likely to get on my list because they're just not long enough to lose interest in. Technically I did finish 7, but never honestly. I lost all interest, so I had to cheat to finish it. Usually I'll finish a game, unless it's either way too hard (but then I'll just cheat :p) or it has the suckiest plot in existence and isn't worth my time.
By the way, TIE Fighter is worth finishing. You should give it another try ;)
Crono Trigger (couldn't beat Lavos)
It took me a while to beat Lavos myself. I also played Chrono Cross and I beat it, and it froze during the ending cutscene, so I had to beat it again
Madden NFL 2006. I always get to right before I go to the playoffs then I delete my franchise.
Kingdom hearts. I have 2 fights left before I finish it. But I saw my friend do them once, and just didnt feel like fighting them myself.

Final Fantasy 8. I ended up just letting my friend borrow it, but I haven't gotten it back yet. SOCOM is another one, quit around mission 7 or 8. Not too many others though, mostly console games because I don't play PS2 much.
People say I post too much

Final Fantasy 7 - I got far far away and then lent it to a friend who promptly lost it, when i got it back my save was long since deleted and i couldn't be bothered playing again.
Final Fantasy 9 - I reached what I presume is the final battle vs Kuja and his monster, left it for a week or so and lost all my skills in organising the party. = gg FF9.
Myst I - got to the end but freed the wrong person and then couldn't be bothered loading the game from my last save - about 3 hours beforehand. Riven - I just couldn't get into this one as much as Myst. Exile -Am playing it now, I don't know why I didn't when my dad bought it almost 3 years ago.
Erm... every fps/shooter I've owned save HL2, Deus Ex, Max Payne 1, and UT2004. Erm - every RTS i've owned which is starcraft, warcraft 1, 2, and 3:TFT, emipre earth, AOE1, 2. AO Myth, the starwars one of AOE2.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assualt, the game wasn't any fun, so I stopped playing when I got to the second to last mission.

Baldur's Gate, I borrowed it from a friend who's brother had the game. I was all new at RPG's so I asked if I could try it out. After a couple of weeks of playing however my friend's brothr needed the game back :( . I was just about to enter the city of Baldur's Gate itself.
That is one game I still would love to finish one day. :p
I have an obsession to finish games that I buy. It doesn't matter how painful it is, I have to finish them. Pretty much the only game I have bought and not finished was Far Cry. It was a difficult game and I just completely lost interest.
If the question was the most painful game you have forced yourself to finish, then the award would go to Doom 3.
I didn't make it!
I didn't finish GTA: Vice City, Jedi Outcast for PC, Call of Duty: FInest Hour and a bunch more...
