So guys, it's official;

SAM_2686.jpg

With a fairly reasonable price of $US599 RRP - it's beans on toast and £1 ready meals for the rest of the month but fuck it, I'm getting one.

Clock speed, 1733MHz without boosting, and 8GB of onboard memory is standard.

Anyway I don't know what else to say.

Just;

If the Canadian dollar would stop wallowing in puddles of its own shit, then I'll happily pick up a 1070 at some point. Looking forward to some benchmarks

Alright, for once I'm definitely going to have to get an up to date PC rather than stay behind.

The only thing AMD has bulldozed lately is confidence in their products :p

I bought a GTX 970 half a year ago, I don't think I really need a faster GPU for the time being as my screens only support 1980p. But interesting to see how much performance you can get out of those things. I'm curious if AMD can keep up.

I haven't been following any of this. What does it mean, please, and why is everyone so excited?

Specifically, what does it mean for someone looking to eventually upgrade from an Nvidia GTX 770 DirectCU II and Core i5-4670K?

Darn, I hope the quote notification update comes soon.

The new cards make it much more affordable to play games at 4k resolutions as they supposedly are twice as powerful as the current flagships. If you want to stick with 1080p chances are that you will be able to get a good deal on used GTX 970s and 980s flooding the market soon.
