For those of who don't know, Giest is a First Person Shooter that will be coming out for Gamecube. There hasn't been much innovation with First Person Shooters lately, but Giest looks like it will break this trend. In Giest, your character is a ghost who can possess people, animals, and objects. You can only possess people and animals when they are frightened, so that means you have to do something to frighten your victim before you can possess him. You can possess lamps and make them flicker on and off or you can possess Fire Extinguishers and make them go off. Whatever you have to do to get them scared. Since you can't really do to much as a ghost this means you'll frequently be going from object to object, person to person to figure out puzzles and get through the levels. It won't be the typical, "Blow shit up." game. This is bad news to some, but many people have been waiting for a First Person Shooter that took more than a lot of ammo to beat. It will also have a multiplayer. Does anybody besides me think this game will own all?

For once DaRKMaGEWiZaRD, i have to agree with you.

Scuba HoboIt won't be the typical, "Blow shit up." game.

The best FPS are "blow shit up" games. Look at Halo 2, Half-Life 2, Doom 3, Far Cry etc. I don't see how they are going to impliment guns/ weapons or whatever into this game, where all you do is possess people. This is a bad concept for a FPS.

All the consoles are pretty much on par with FPS controls, it's merely what you prefer. Oh, and GC does have third party developers, did you even see Nintendo's E3? I doubt it, you probally just kept watching the Halo 2 previews over and over.

You haven't played Half of those games. What I meant was this will be a FPS that will take more than ammo to beat. It will have a lot of puzzles, but some FPS fans don't like that. Have you played Metroid Prime? And it will implement weapons, you just can't use them as a ghost. Oh, one more thing, DOOM III SUCKED.

Can't you ever make a valid arguement? Good lord man, if that's all your going to say I don't see why you bother posting.

Well, first of all, the weapons were shit. They were all boring and the fact that they sounded like pea shooters didn't help either. Second, it was too dark. Sure, the graphics were amazing but you could barely see anything. And, you had to keep switching between flashlight and gun. He doesn't have a gun with a light on it? Third, the gameplay was shallow. You just keep going down a bunch of hallways shooting zombies and finding keys. Fourth, the multiplayer sucked. This isn't too much of a problem though because I'm sure some modder will make it better. Fifth, you had to sell your car to update your computer for it. Those are the main things that pissed me off.

You make some good points there, I give you that. But you can't really say it sucked, that's a little harsh ;)

See, this is what I don't get. If you read the persons "mini review" he points out all the things that made this game terrible, yet he still says he loves it. People are in denial. Doom 3 was in production for a while, people got excited about it, spent hundreds of dollars on video cards and processors, then the game brought nothing special but really good graphics. I think people need to admit Doom 3 sucked, move on, and look for a game that justifies all the money they put into computer upgrades. Beef Flap: Maybe it didn't SUCK but it was nothing special and it wasn't worth the video cards and processors you'd need to play it. I'm just glad I played it at E-Zone rather than updating my computer for it.
