Since there has been one on games I thought I would try demos as I like trying games before buying them.
I just downloaded Resident evil 2 and 3 and found there was no exit from either, so I had force my computer to crash to get out.
Also awhile back I tried to run Age of empire 3 but it did a system check and refused to even start up so those 3 rank as bad demos.
Empire Earth 3 was just a bad game so the demo was also bad
I give the GTA series a bad mark for not even having demos
World in Conflict has a good demo Empire Earth 2 was good Rise of nation was good Since it's on my mind from another thread Zoo Tycoon 2 (and exp) were good Sins of a solar empire seemed good for the game itself.
So, my summary is below
Resident evil 2 Resident evil 3 Age of empires 3 Empire Earth 3
Worlde in Conflict Empire Earth 2 Rise of Nations Zoo Tycoon 2 (and exps) Sins of a Solar Empire

By your lists here it almost seems like there is a pattern, all demos for sequals seem bad. That's probably because they don't try to do great (especially if the original did well) because people have played them and already know what the game is going to be like so they probably think people will automatically buy them thinking it's going to be better than the first, which they usually arnt. Agree anyone? ||G||

Can't remember too many good demos but Uncharted Drake's Fortune had a good demo, showed off the engine, combat system, the beautifully-rendered water.
As for bad demos, thats not too hard, most demos are shabby versions of the full game, but the worst I'veplayed to date that I can remember was the Empire Total War demo. Great game, but the demo was so broken. It took well over 4-5 minutes to load battles in the demo, because it was through steam and everything had to be unpacked for each battle, was terrible.
