Norton? Norton is a piece of crap anyway. Download "Avast! Home Edition" and "ZoneAlarn". They're free and way better than Norton, plus when you tell ZoneAlarm to unblock a program, it usually does it.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Or just turn it off, aslong as your not using browsers or downloading stuff from them, nothing usually gets through.

Wrong. As long as you're connected to the net, you're at risk from people/software trying to enter your system. Leave your PC connected to the net for 15 minutes without using a browser, and see how many attacks your firewall logs. Sure, most of them will be port scans, but an attack is still an attack.

Well, you could take it off when you connect, then restart it after that?

granted norton isnt the best protection, i got zone alarm and stuff too, but for the average user its more then good enough, and for the most part he probably doesnt even need it depending on what hes doing, because when i reformatted my computer (to clear out space and added a new hard drive) i didnt instal zone alarm and stuff for like 3 weeks and i had no problems with my computer, and of coarse i scanned and everything, only have like 27 processes running and no symptoms of anything, honestly my reccomendation would be to get zone alarm but for the time being you should be able to just shut off norton and be fine, as long as your not going to any sites that you get like 1000 pop ups and download stuff from (not to suggest anything, but ie: porn) otherwise then there might be stuff on your computer trying to get through your firewall, and as soon as you take it down you'll be screwed

This problem might have something to do with the automatic updates. Each time GW updates its build, Norton will recognise it as an essentially new program, and you will need to refresh your permissions regarding it. Usually a Norton pop-up will... um... pop-up when you start the program. Just select 'permit' and then the 'always perform this action' (or whatever the checkbox says), and it should work. Alternatively, head into Norton's innards and manually change the program permissions. You might also have it set to automatically block programs trying to access the internet, in which case you will need to change that and then grant GW permission. You shouldn't be connected to the internet with a disabled firewall under any circumstances, however, unless you have hardware protection as well. Even then I wouldn't recommend it.
