Hey guys.... Need some help here. My dillema is this..... I used to play Counter Strike a long time ago. Switched to Command and Conquer, then to BF1942. I still love BF1942, and have tried some BF2, but not so impressed with it. Like when BF1942 came out, I immmediately loved it, but BF2, not so much. I am goofing with COD2 single player right now, but thinking about getting back into Counter Strike. They have so many, it seems, different packages out for that game, I need some advice. I have heard Day of Defeat is really good. There is..... Counter Strike:Source Counter Strike:Condition Zero Half Life2-Game of the year edition Half Life2-Collectors edition Half Life2 what the? and then what is Half Life2-Deathmatch and how does Day of Defeat fit into them too? Thanks and forgive my ignorance, but whats the best move for mutliplayer fun?

Half Life 2 DM sucks goat nads. Don't even bother. Depends what type of MP fun you like. Fast paced shooter? Buy Quake 4. Great MP aspect. CS Source is always a fav for the slower crowd. Still great fun and many people playing it. Have you ever played SOF2? Very fun action.

well, i like war-type games best. thats why i was thinking of going back to cs. i like quake 3 okay, but nowhere near as much as bf1942. i saw sof2 was released in 2002. probably not much of an mp crowd now? so in what edition is dm in that i should avoid?

Get Half Life: 2 and you get HL2 CS:S HL2: DM and loads of other mods

DOD:S is $20 but you don't need HL2 to play it, if you get DOD:S you can also play HL2 mods.

Collectors Edition & GOTY Edition are the same except the Collectors comes with a T-Shirt and a bigger hole in your wallet. They come with the same as HL2 as well as HL:S (Half Life: Source) which is Half Life 1 with updated graphics (but you cant play HL1 mods with HL:S, it uses the HL2 engine)

CS:CZ is the offline version of CS and it comes with a CS game with missions... yeah

I would advise gettin just normal HL2 as it is all you need ;)

But personally i think CS1.6 is better than CS:S

If you only want multiplayer, get CS: source. It has all the online variants. But I really think you will miss out on one of the ALLTIME best singleplayer games to be released on PC. It is awe-inspiring.I have played through it 3 times. It still blows me away. It was the first FPS I ever played. It is the reason I upgraded my PC.

Jak|17CS:CZ is the offline version of CS and it comes with a CS game with missions... yeah\

Are you sure Condition Zero is just an offline version of CS? Because from what I last recalled, Condition Zero and 1.6 were two different versions of CS that you could play online. Oh yeah, and what makes them different is CZ is like a more updated version of 1.6 with improved graphics, textures, and maps you could play online. And yeah, it also has bots and missions you can play offline too.

The CZ bundle includes CS 1.6, as well as Delorted Scenes, a pck of missions, I enjoy a lot. Delorted Scenes lets you carry multiple primary weapons, pistols, includes the M60 and LAW. You can have every weapon in the game at your fingertips. Its a great game, with good grphics
