Half Life 2. Doom 3 gets boring too soon, and the gravity gun owns.

DOOM3 is for 6 year olds with no sense of adventure. DOOM3 sucks
Hey I've never seen any HL2 VS D3 threads before. Awesome!

Doom 3 got old real fast.
It has fancy dynamic lights, but a lame plot.
When in doubt, gas it!

I can't choose.
Half Life has a great Physics engine but a really crap ending. Half Life had some really scary moments, but not as many as Doom. Doom has great lighting effects and a good system of information collecting, but was a little repedative. Doom had a (slightly) more believable storyline but Half life had more intense gameplay.
Each has their own qualities that make them both classics, but in the end I can't can't choose, its a bit like saying whats better, Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction.

Why do you even compare these 2. Doom3 = all inside, darkness, scary etc. Half Life 2 = Outiside, Inside, Light, not scary just a fine shooter with a nice story. 2 totally different games, I don't think you can compare them.
me vote is doom3 - because it's better :D
And why is it better?

Half-Life 2 was way better as a complete package; good story, physics to screw around with, and the engine ran a ton smoother. My computer could run HL2 on high, whereas I had to play Doom 3 on low everything. I say Half-Life 2!

I liked doom 3 but it got boring fast, HL2 had a better story, graphics and physics and online play.

Its a hard choice. When I first played Doom 3 I found it boring, on the second time I played it I loved it. Half-life 2 was equally good, but I prefer Doom 3
So, here goes as to why:
Doom 3 was a better FPS than Half-Life 2 was. Though HL2 had a better storyline, the game itself seemed less of a shooter, more of a puzzle game- with shooting.
Doom 3 went "old skool", I suppose you could say. It went back to the classic times of "here's a gun, here are some monsters. Go shoot the crap out of them", which is a refreshing change from most FPS games.
Graphically, its very hard to choose. I think HL2 had better graphics than Doom 3, but didn't utilise them as effectively. In Doom 3 the graphics and lighting effects are used to great effect to add so much atmosphere, something which I felt Half-life 2 lacked.
