I have just installed the new version 2.1 and when playing my computer will crash and restart. It did not ever do this on the old 2.0a version. I checked with my graphics card company and they said the game matched its compatability. I also turned all my settings to the worst possible settings. Still the game crashed. I was wondering if someone could help me with this. My graphics card is Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller. KB

A pretty standard video card is the Nvidia GeForce FX5200, but if you want amazing graphics but dont want to spend I reccommend getting the ATI Radeon 9600XT.

If you rich then get the ATI Radeon 9800XT

I too am having vid card probs. Goaty same thing happens to me. However, I DO have an FX 5200 wit updated drivers and all but still crash/ restart thing happens. Also Seamen your answer is so lame. Buy a new vid card ??????? How in the world does that answer help? I wanna know why it does it. For the record I have a fast sys also so its not that. How about a link to a tweak guide for vid cards ? I have searched wit no luck. I think its the patch. I am starting to believe that the DEVS released the patch sooner that it was ready to be. Any help on this is appreciated.

I too have video problems. Namely low FPS or about 12 on a radion 9500 which has direct x 9.0. In desperation I installed 512 MB Corsair XST memory. Have T-1 cable service so thats not it. This week I am building a water cooled ABIT K7G maxII with a Meg cache Prescott, 550 VA PS,acrylic, UV, and most important a new bios which I hope will kick ass on version 2.1. Try uninstalling 2.0, 2.1 upgrade ALL your drivers, then reup on 2.1. Go to google for Tweaking.Search "tweaking 82865G Graphics Controller." You will probably have to flash a new Bios to tweak this MB. I have read alot of people saying they had to refresh all drivers to get 2.1 to work. This is definitely the way to go on the cheap. You really need an upgrade Honestly, Intel 665 MB is about $80 on pricewatch.com and you can get a Sapire Radion 9800 for a hundred. There are lots of deals this summer. Good luck. Technically you're AWOL. I'M NOT YOUR MOTHER. SCUM HAS NO MOTHER. GET ON IT SOLDIER. MOVE.

I see from the replies that I came to the right place. I am having a problem with battlefield vietnam. Whenever I run the game it is extremely choppy and the rendering is terrible. I am using a geforce fx 5900xt which I have been told should run anything out now with ease. I also have a 2.8ghz p4 and 512 mb of ram. I just got the internet on my system today so I have only installed the nvidia drivers that came with the card and bfvm. I have been told it might be the nvidia drivers and I actually have not gone to the nvidia website to download any drivers because I am not certain what is going on. Any help will be extremely appreciated....
