Do the developers put the codes in the game? Do they spent all that time making up commands like X Y A X LEFT? and how are they on the internet so fast? Just really who made the cheats and how are the put in games..

I think the developers send the info to a site ahead of time and that site gives info to other sites.

Yes, cheat codes have been programmed into the game in most cases. Scripts are a different thing, though...

I frequently use cheats, they can be quite entertaining, especially NPC spawn commands.

I will use cheats when I have completed a game several times, and want to play around with the physics or ragdolls or weapons or if the game just sux.

The makers, the coders, are the ones who place the codes into the game, And are likely to be the ones to release them on their forums. If not, they may be found inside the game during credits or perchance of people hexing them, or just looking at the code.

Cheating on single player is just simple commands you can use in the game. Cheating/Hacking on multiplayer is programming, codes, that sorta thing.

And there are the trainers, hacking tools for extra cheats in SP.

Most cheat codes seem to be put in to the game with the purpose of allowing it to be easily debugged.
