In an attempt to get this forum going again. How are you doing in the Imperial Campaign? I'm currently playing as the greeks and I've controlled most of the greek lands, I spent my last few turns trying to destroy the Macedonians but they have one reigon I can't find. I tried to go over across into Turkey ruled by the Pontins but I was pushed out rather swiftly. I've built up large armies and fleets over to rome to destroy the Romans and secure a stronghold there while I try to take all of the area that is now Serbia and Bosnia, I'm getting quite a bit of grief off the Cartheginian backstabbers.

How well are you doing in the campaign now?

I was playing as the Julii and after taking over all of Western Europe only the Seclucids were left controlling bits of Asia. After many years of hard fighting i beat them up and completed the game

I have two Imperial Campaigns running at the time. Both on Very Hard Difficulty The Greek Cities: I have made them into the most advanced and largest faction. Their cities strech from the ruins of Pontus to Rome. Soon the Juili will fall and I will have access to seige Spain. Once I feel ready I will take Carthage and move across Numida to the southrean coast of Spain The Brutii: The Egyptians are posing a threat to me. They have destroyed the Seleciuds, Parthia, and Pontus and are trying to sail into Sparta. I have to quickly defeat Dacia and move my legions to retake what the Egyptians have stolen. Also in your last post Sam about how you cannot take Roman lands is because your tactics might be wrong. The Greeks rely on their phalanx and nothing else. The Romans however are more organized, lines of light to heavy infantry with calavry, archers, and siege equiment. They are a nightmare to the Greek Cities and once a phalanx is flanked it dosent matter your number because then even a few peasents can destroy you from there. Try to hold your ground. If you have to maybe use phalanx to create a 360 degree circle so no matter where the Romans rush you from they will be killed in the charge. Use the light calavry the Greeks have to circle around the battle and come behind Roman lines to take down any major threats to your phalanx such as Onagers.

Anyway, I beat the romans, destroyed all the families. Rome was a tricky fight, but I managed to block off all acces to the city plaza with spartan hoplites. I haven't played in a while, faulty disk drive, but I just need to destroy the Gauls and I'll have won.
