Seriously, when will developers learn that NO ONE, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE likes escort missions? It doesn't help that the enemy ALWAYS outnumbers and overwhelms you, meanwhile the person or thing that you need to protect is as dumb as a rock. Serious Offenders: -Star Wars: Rogue Squadron series -Any Star Wars game that involves flying a ship -Resident Evil 4 (occasionally) -Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast (Come on, Kyle, start dating a smart chick) -Dead Rising -GRAW series (hey, it's close enough)

GTA games tend to have a lot of these "escort" missions as well. I guess it has become an inside joke with devs like giant rats are for RPGs.

I kind of like some Escort missions. It is definitely less fun when the thing your escorting completely lacks any semblance of intelligence.

However, Blockade on Chandrilla in Rogue Squadron was a good example of an escort mission. I miss my Rogue Squadron N64 Cartridge...

I hate escort missions in RPGs, MMORPGs, and most shooters. Usually the AI completely stupid...

Yea, I agree. I hated the escort missions in Morrowind and Oblivion, especially when you had to wait for them for ever. Then they would throw themselves into hordes of enemies and get raped. Really annoying.

I hate the escort missions in GTA SA and VC games But Escort missons require you to be more tactical instead of mindlessly killing enemies

Never had a problem with them, in terms of me liking them, it's a change of pace which all developers add to change up the game play.

I don't suppose you've played a lot of games.

I forgot about RTS games. Same thing.

They follow a specific path, and just keep walking. Regardless of what might be in their paths. I could be launching explosives, or catapulting rocks, and they will march right into the line of fire.

Even if the player, or his soldiers, have engaged a large enemy group. They will continue to march on through the middle of the battle!!!

At which point, I often just execute them myself.
