As the title suggests, I have been playing way too much Spyro over the past couple days. =p
It all started at a friends house when he pulled out his old Ps1. Then, from some beacon of hope, we found the original "Spyro the Dragon". Needless to say, we had to beat that game ASAP. After beating it, I missed all the good old times I had with Spyro, as that is the first game I can really remember playing. (1998) After this "re-encounter" with Spyro, I got the new game "The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon". It was great Spyro fun, but it didn't feel like an old Spyro game. It felt too much like a "God of War" mixed with a "Lord of the Rings" but, alas, it was still my dragon friend.
So my question to everyone is: Do you think Activision will make another Spyro game? Sierra (The publisher of the last "Legend of" games) was bought out and merged with Activision when Activision Blizzard was formed. Activision now has Spyro and Crash Bandicoot, which is another awesome game. I really don't want this game to be the last we see of Spyro (especially considering the style of gameplay), but the more I think about it, the less I think they will make another game.
I recall playing one of them, just not which one. Activision doesn't seem like the kind of publisher that'd look into the platform genre, so I doubt they'd be the ones to do it. That's not to say they wont enlist another developer to do it. I really doubt it'd end up like the old ones, but you never know.
I didn't make it!
I loved the Spyro the Dragon playstation games, however I don't want another game made unless Insomniac is the developer, because they did it right!

True, but they made it too easy and fighting was the same in every level.
I got Spyro The Eternal Night the other day, and it is the hardest game I think I ever played. The controls are so bad you'll be retrying levels not because the challenges are hard, but because you'll spend more time trying to make Spyro do what you want instead of focusing on battles!
Dawn of the Dragon does kick some major ass though. :nodding: If your a Spyro fan, I'd recommend it but you won't understand the story.
I think it's about time that Insomniac pick up Spyro again. They've been doing well with Resistance and Ratchet and Clank, and maybe they can buy back the rights.
But I'm being hopeful here.
