Everyone is rntitled to their opinion regarding what to post. What I actually find really irritating is people like the guy who wrote the above quote. I wont go ant further in denegrating him tho as he already has done himself. Regarding whether AA has become boring or not. Yeah it has. However I would expect it to as it's a freebie that has just about had its day. There is too much in the way of good competition for it to remain popular. I played it for a year with a bunch of guys , all of which met online playing Men of Valor. We formed a small clan rented a server which was initially public, but after the idiots that kept appearing we made it private and continued to enjoy AA for the rest of the year. We abandoned the server and the game in preference to Battlefield 2 which although it has it's own faults is far superior to Americas Army. Don't get me wrong the game was fantastic when I first started to play. You eventually find the maps that suit you and play your heart out for a whi;le, but as with any game it becomes a ittle stale after awhile. The fact that you are not able to produce mods or maps for the game really has for me signed it's death knell. There are some parts of the game such as the rag doll effects that are better done than BF2, but BF2 has had to compromise because if it improved the soldier graphics the rest of the game would suffer. It's been designed for the general public with respect to what the average user has for his 'rig'. You can just about play ever map thats available with a CPU of around 2G and a memory of 1G. Any less than that and a lot of the maps will lag really badly, however if your spec is similar or better then there's no problem. Because there are a lot of things happening on the maps such as jets and choppers, heavy and light armour as well as artillary being fired almost constantly, you need all these resourses to ensure the game runs smoothly. The greatest difference between AA and BF2 is the number of maps you have to play. I've been writing a review for the BF2 community which lists over 30 modifications, most of which have their own custom maps. As well as over 100 maps for the default levels folder. The biggest mods such as the Mercenaries mod has around 30 custom maps with at least one new on being added on a weekly basis. All the original default maps have been modded in some way and you have access to all sizes from 16 to 64 player. There's a great mod out that li you prefer too play singleplayer you can boost the bot numbers up to the maximum that BF2 allows (128), and change the AI of the bots as well. There's a whole bunch of stuff I could add but it would d take me all day to write about it. all I can say it's one of the most exciting games with so may alternatives it's gonna be a long time before you get bored of it. I haven't played AA since the week after it was updated to the 2.6 version. Played the twonew maps both of which were okay, but BF2 had me by the ****s by then. Down with all those that write stupid comments such as the one I've quoted above andup with those who start of decent threads that are worth discussing.
Thank you Whiterabbit-539 for a truelly decent reply. The first two replies defeat the entire purpose of having a forum, the exchange of ideas.
With that said, I somewhat agree with the OP in the sense that the game is somewhat limited. Games like Call of Duty have really extended lives due to not only the different gameplay but the mods as well. I think not having mods in AA really hurt the longtime play.
And it is true that this game is somewhat the same thing over and over. Look at COD UO, which has Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, Retrieval, Base Assult, Capture the Flag, and another one I forgot the name. Add in vehicles (tanks) and the game changes constantly, even though you can play the same map over and over.
I would hope in the future there could be a little bit more freedom for people to not only develop maps, but even some mods to some degree. I would like to see different gamestyles.

I do miss the times where they would release a new patch every few months. The lack of news they post makes it easy to believe that they have abandoned the game. I still have fun though.

On the old maps, having the Special Forces servers adds a bit of fresh air to the game. Unfortunately it can also unbalance a map incredibly, such as with Bridge Crossing. It's nearly impossible for assualt when every defense player is spamming grenades all over. :uhm:
lol. i was playing bridge cross with some newbie's to the game there was three of them and one of me and they didnt know how to get grenades out,
so long story short people who dont know how to get nade's out,
WILL GET THERE ASS's HANDED TO THEM:moon:
Yeah I think that this game is getting kind of repetitive, but I'm sure that if they release map tools, and we get some good mappers, then this game may be revitlized.
