in 1 word no. pundits in the industry and press have been repeating this tired old cliche since the original playstation and- despite increasingly sophisticated and graphiaclly powerful home consoles - pc gaming shows no signs of dying. in actuality, one could argue it's thriving. world of warcraft, the biggest breakout hit of the last few years, now stands over 8.5 million subscribers worldwide and is still rapidly growing. pc gaming absolutely dominates emerging gaming markets Korea and China, which will only grow in importance as the years go on. even as the consoles improve, the pc is still system of choice for serious real-time strategy and fps gamers, who demand the accuracy and depth of the keyboard-and-mouse interface. if that weren't enough to prove the health of the pc, two of the most anticipated releases, Will Wrights Spore and Crytek's Crysis, will hit the home computers. expect this list of hot titles to grow as we begin to see the next generation of pc games tailored for dual-core processors and directx 10, which will likely blow the prettiest ps3 and 360 games out of the water.
Uh, whosaid anyting about PC games dying? So what? Random rant?
No way, is more and more better I think, alot of console games comes now on PC too
actually porting games like WoW to consoles, would possibly be somewhat easy now.
Yet as was said many times, there's a number of games, in which pcs excel.
those are RTS FPS and a number of rpgs (like bg, planescape, nwn etc) And indie games. These are actually genres that keep the pc alive, and that will keep it alive.
Why indie games?
Simple, you require a pc to create a console game...
PC games, dead, are you smoking something?
PC Gaming is not dead, Console Gaming is not dead, that post hurt my eyes, the sky is blue, the rivers are green and this thread has all its questions answered already in the realms of the obvious.
indeed pc gaming isnt dead at all, it seems to come alive! DX10? anyone?
Ahh PC gaming, The pinnicale of all gaming. I'll shoot myself if PC gaming dies. Since I didn't shoot myself, it's not dead.
