So i just installed Vampire the masquerade bloodlines and got it patched with unofficial 6.8 and when i start the game its fine until my monitor decides hey! you cant play this game! and hits me with not optium mode so what i do is i set it to the highest resolution.Whats odd is this does not appear to work like all the other nice source games .... :Puzzled:
Bloodlines, unfirtunately, isn't one of those "nice" Source games. It was the first released game using Source before HL2 was released iirc.
So buggy was it, that it was the final nail in Troika's coffin. (Which is a damn shame tbqh.)
In all honesty though, some specs of your machine might be helpful too. It could be anything from a problem with drivers, all the way to needing to upgrade/replace hardware.
frankly I have to agree It probally isnt my Video card but i bet its my monitor :(. I have 894 MB of RAM which runs most games fine with my AMD Sempron 3600 + and my NVIDIA GeForce 6150 nForce 450
As inconvenient as it may be, you might want to try taking your computer round to a friend's house, then try it out with their monitor.
If the problem persists, then that will rule out monitor problems. At that point, it'll probably be a case of driver/hardware issues concerning your graphics card.
If it does turn out to be the monitor, then that'll be more expensive to replace than a graphics card. Not much more expensive mind you, especially if you shop around for the best prices for yourself.
(Of course, if you've got a spare monitor hanging around in working order, or know someone who does, then you'll be better off!)
Well after an hour of searching google and calling friends who are all passed out i found the solution Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines - WSGFWiki awesome so now im enjoying my malkavianness...ism? ummmm
Well thank Jebus for that! No expenses necessary!
Always prefer Brujah myself, though Malkavs always get the best conversation lines...
(Well, now we wait on someone to come & close the thread since all is well again.)
