Just for the sake of it;

If I said I already know alot about this game and how it will work, so why should I join your guild when I can play the game with content any way.

What would your arguement be for me to join your guild?

That is an interesting question. For folks who have never joined a guild or played an MMO before, it could be a strange concept. In fact, I personally resisted joining a guild (for a long time) in the first MMO I played several years ago. What I discovered when I finally joined one completely changed my perspective on the game and how I played it.

Today, I’m part of a Guild that many have called home. I’ve had the fortune of meeting people whom I have enjoyed learning the ways of the Jedi and exploring the Star Wars universe. If that still sounds alien (sorry about the pun), think about this.

Why do people go to bars? Some go to hang out with new friends and meet new ones with similar interests. How cool will it be to explore a galaxy class starship with other folks who are just as excited about it as you are? Wouldn’t it be fun to meet up with the same folks at the ‘usual time’ and chart some unknown piece of the galaxy or run battle simulations with?

Even if you aren’t ‘grouping up’ with others to explore, you can still enjoy solo play while in a guild – but get more out of it. Think about Libraries. Why do people go to libraries to study? It was quiet enough in my apartment to study and yet I still went to the library. For reasons I still can’t quite explain fully, somehow being in an environment with others doing the same thing made me better at it. I could study alone in my apartment or study alone in the same room with others studying – and yet got more accomplished when I was in the library. Weird…but true. Well, I believe the same goes with MMOs. While everyone could be off doing their own activities, everyone is still a part of the guild.

It has also been my experience that life is easier on those in a guild. If you need help getting the key for the locked door and you need three people to do it, while in a guild the group could be formed quickly. Sometimes these games require a group of people to accomplish a task and being in a guild makes the process of ‘forming your away team’ that much easier.

Finally, and what I seem to do a lot is simply ask for help and get quick answers. I get stuck…a lot. Somehow if there is some clue to getting a quest completed, I miss it. Asking in guild chat where the key is or what the code for the door is results in quick and painless answers instead of hours of frustration.

Guilds aren’t for everyone though. Lots of people are lone wolfs and there is nothing wrong with that choice either. Many folks know the ins and outs of the game, how it will work and don’t want the help of others nor want to help others. Many folks feel that a guild would slow them down or is just a nuisance. Frankly, I have joined a few guilds myself that are worse by being a part of them than being solo. Solo play can be just as fun or more so for lots of people. I even have an alt that I sometimes play that is not guilded.

Everyone is different and will find out what works best for them. My goal is twofold. First, let those who are interested in playing STO know that there is a guild out there that is organized, has a strong foundation, and a good family and fun culture. And secondly, welcome new members who are interested in learning more about or joining Legend Guild.

I’m not going to argue that anyone should join a guild, but for those folks who are interested, I welcome you to join ours and discover what Legend Guild is about and see if you want to wear the Legend patch on your shoulder.

We are not a guild for sto, but rather Legend Guild is a guild for other games that has been around for over two years - and expanding to STO.
Edit: Nah its too complicated, read this, read that, agree to behave like this. Why bother when the game will already have its own set of all this and that.

Which of the five rules did you have a problem with?

Five simple rules of Legend:

 1. Be a GOOD person to group with and respectful to others. Do not intentionally cause undue strife to another player (grief).
 2. Members may not excessively beg for coin or other items in general, tell, or guild chats. There are many members in the Guild who can help you attain what you need (you just may want to offer help before you ask for it).
 3. Verbal abuse or harassment towards anyone will not be tolerated and are grounds for immediate removal. The members with which you serve are both male and female, and represent different races, colors, religions, national origins, and species. Do not make national origin or religious comments, jokes, slurs or discount other member’s beliefs.
 4. General/Group/Guild/ Voice chat are to always remain PG at all times. Everyone is expected to refrain from using cursing or sexual references in your public conversations. You represent the Guild in all things you say and do.
 5. Guild bashing, threats, mutiny, indicating in guild chat that you are leaving the guild, or recruiting for other guilds is grounds for immediate removal from the Guild without warning. Note: this does not preclude free speech. There is a distinct difference between criticism and bashing. Constructive criticism is always welcome and you are encouraged to post that here on the website.

Oh no, I have no problem with your rules, I think they are perfectly reasonable.

Its just theres tooooo much to read and sort through.

The game itself will come with its own lot of instructions etc etc.

And the webpage is way to complicated for a newbie to your site, its not user friendly. :banghead::sleeping:

Legend is my first guild that i ever joined, and they have proven to me time and again why i put my faith in them. They are truly the greatest group of people i have ever had the pleasure of interacting with, IRL or in a game. If you stop by our site, please take the extra time to read the items included for our guests. While it may seem alot to take in, I feel these are the simple things that give people the info they need to decide wether our family is truly right for them.

I joined Legend when I began playing Star Wars Galaxies almost a year and a half ago. Back then it was an SWG-only guild. Since then, several of our members (not me) got into playing Battlefield 2, so the guild leaders decided to add BF2 to the guild website to act as a clearinghouse for BF2 enthusiasts. When Dungeons and Dragons Online debuted this year, several of our members who had quit SWG (but missed interacting with their online friends and SWG guildmates) were able to come back into the fold by sharing the new chapter that was created for that game. I am glad the guild leaders have decided to add STO to the guild-supported games. And starting recruiting early is just a sign of how terribly impatient we are for this game to get online! We're just a bunch of nerds sharing our enthusiasm! :n0e: We have several members who have joined (or re-joined) the guild and play only one of the games we support, yet they are welcome to join in on the usual forum trolling across game lines and contribute to the occasional silliness or knowledge sharing that goes on in sites like this. It is just fun to get to know people of similar interests from all over the world who wish to share their uniqueness with us. As for complexity of the website, it is a vBulletin forum, just like this one and is no more or less difficult to navigate. Just click on things that catch your interest!:)
